[That's... 'Lenalee' is what he wants to say, but he can't. He hasn't seen her like this since she lost the use of Dark Boots. Even then, it was never this bad.

Well, scratch that. He had seen her worse, when they were kids. But she was also a frightened little girl that didn't want anything more than to go back to her brother.

Lenalee was better off back home. Away from Nesreca, away from the Noah, safe in the new Headquarter's stronghold. He was glad to see her safe, but this was just wrong. There already so many people from their world here.]

[Potentially doesn't begin to cover it. She's still shaking when her eyes flick over to the screen again, and if there were any colour left in her cheeks, it drains away when she sees him. Suddenly, her legs just aren't gonna support her. Down she goes, bringing one hand to cover her mouth and the weak gasps coming out. The other drops weakly to her lap, leaving the PDA filming the ceiling and just barely the top of her head, which slowly bows as she does. Kanda-- Kanda's alive? That can't be right. She has to have gone mad, hasn't she?]

[Okay, that's definitely alarming. Kanda's quickly searching for something to write on and write with, taking a blank page from the back of one of Alma's books and quickly scribbles something on it.

There's more tapping on the device, and Kanda holds up the paper:

[402? What's 402? Lenalee forces the polite smile a tiny, extra bit wider, and tilts her head in what she hopes is a quizzical enough a way to get the unspoken "Excuse me?" across.]

[What on Earth is she... Her eyes harden at the use of the word 'toy' and she shakes her head, emphatically. No. This isn't for some little girl to decide.]

[There's a loud clatter as the PDA drops, and then it's scooped right back up to show Lavi with a relieved - and surprised - grin. You're alright. You're here which isn't all that good, but the most important thing is...you're alright. In a way, it means that you won't be hurt at home anymore, just stuck with them in this place.

[L-Lavi. Everything blanks. Everything. But somehow she manages to tremble a smile back at him despite that, despite the dull roar of blood in her ears, the tight feeling expanding in her chest. She wipes away the tears that fall on the PDA screen with visibly twitching fingers, and her lips move as she tries to say his name. This can't be real. This can't be.

[He can read her lips alright and lets out a silent chuckle, just grinning way too much for anything else as he mouths the words "Hi, Lena" slowly back at her. Lavi holds up a finger for a moment and disappears off screen for a moment, getting paper and a pen he is, and comes back scribbling on it.

"Don't panic, yeah? We've all had our voices taken for a bit. Creepy little girl's fault, the one that will give/gave you a number."

It stays up for as long as it takes her to read it and he turns the paper over, writing on it again.

"Any idea where you are in the city?"]

[He's okay. He's okay, he's okay, he's okay. Oh, thank god. She can't even find it in her to focus on the bratty child being responsible for her loss of voice because Lavi is okay. Shaking her head with a sniffle. No. A church-- that's about all she knows. That doesn't necessarily mean Lavi won't know, however, and even in a state like this she has enough bearings to get up and move to show him the sign outside. It's difficult enough to read with all the lichen and faded, missing strips, and even harder as the light starts to fade into dusk.]

[Somehow, those words leap off the paper in your voice, Rhode. You don't need to be able to talk for her to hear it. At first, the only reaction Lenalee offers is the flash of surprise in her eyes. Then her mouth tightens and she positively ripples with anger. What are you doing here?]
