Event 5B: Magic Club

Arthur smiled in satisfaction. It was finally done. Though, he did have to change it a little, he was quite happy with how it turned out. He hung the poster on the door. It read:

OH I SEE YOU THAR~ bela_natalia January 1 2010, 08:46:50 UTC
Natalia had been scrambling around the place, not only because she couldn't find her brother, but partly because the layout of the school was significantly different than the one she had previously attended. Mentally cursing, she nearly tore a poster hanging from a door she had hastily thrown open.

"Grck!", she made a strange sound of surprise as the bottom of the poster flapped out at her. It seemed like the tape had come undone on the bottom due to her erratic movement.

"What the hell is this?!", Natalia demanded, swiping it away from her face.

"O-oi! Be careful with that! That took me quite awhile to make!"

Arthur quickly grabbed the tape he had left in the room, and fixed the bottom. After he finished, he glanced at the girl. She looked slightly flustered, like she had been running for awhile. He felt his inner gentleman come to the surface.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine.", she automatically replied, straightening her hair in a more presentable fashion.

"More importantly, have you seen my brother?", she asked.

But that was when she saw that.

"Are those love potions?!", the girl asked, pointing incredulously at some bottles with heart-shaped decorations around them. Not only that, she just had the feeling that they were something related to love.

Right when Arthur was about to state that he wasn't quite sure who her brother was, her outburst caught him off-guard.

"Hmm?" he questioned, peeking into the room. "Oh, the one with the hearts?" Arthur straightened proudly. "Why, yes they are. I made them myself. Quite an eye you have," Arthur stated, a smile slowly coming over his face.

"Would you like a closer look?" he asked stepping into the room.

Elizaveta was aimlessly wandering through the school, feeling restless in the current lull. She would have to join a club soon enough, but which one? The sports clubs seemed a good enough place to start and, considering her athleticism, she would cope quite well on them.

Her train of thought was interrupted when she saw a striking poster pined to one of the many doors around her.

She paused and tilted her head, taking a moment to let the club's name sink in. Black Magic.

"Huh."

Was that some kind of club for stage magicians or something?

Arthur looked up from the vials he had been placing on the shelves. He thought he heard a voice from outside the room. He glanced quickly at the girl putting books on the shelf. It wasn't her speaking. He took a peek outside.

There was another girl standing outside the door. She was staring idly at the poster he had put up not too long ago. Did she want to join? Well, that would solve his membership problem. It was worth a shot.

"Can I help you with something, miss?"

A young man with giant eyebrows popped out behind the door, startling her even though his tone was level and polite.

"Oh, well." This was probably his club. "What do you mean by 'magic'? Like, rabbits out of hats? Or-" Black magic. What was that again? "Ah, what's it called 'voodoo' and potions?"

The club gave her an uneasy feeling, but it seemed interesting nonetheless. Some sort of a morbid curiosity was motivating her to find out just what this club was all about.

Arthur took a moment to think before responding. "While I meant for this to be more of a potion kind of magic club," he paused, walking over to the girl, "I do know quite a bit of stage magic." He reached behind the girl's ear, and pulled out a coin. "It's actually quite easy."

Bel's a bit weird. This seemed intertesting. belgischewaffel January 1 2010, 20:33:44 UTC
Laura always wondered why clubs were necessary. You had to be in at least one or you weren't allowed to graduate. Whoever changed the rules was an asshole.

Clubs were definitely interesting, but she was a lesser noticed girl(despite her height) so it seemed like clubs which focused on teal things were out of the question. Although she'd definitely look into football. And music. She hummed softly at the thought, before realizing she'd passed a rather interesting looking poster. The surrealist backed up(making a tiny beeping noise as she did so, giggling softly when she stopped) and read. Magic huh? Black magic, actually. It wasn't crossed out very well.

It sounded interesting. And thus why she thrust the door open and walked in like she'd been here the whole time.

Arthur jumped, almost dropping the vial in hand. He juggled with it before he got his grip back. Flushing, he turned to look at the newcomer.

"What in the blazes do you think you're doing?!" Maybe he shouldn't be yelling. But it would have been very bad if he dropped that potion! It could have put a hole right through the floor!

Laura giggled some as he juggled the potentially dangerous vial. She smiled when he yelled at her. "I'm not in any blazes, as far as I know!" She looked around to make sure the room wasn't on fire. "But I'm being curious. What're you doing?"

Arthur huffed. She had the nerve to laugh at him! "If you must know, I'm unpacking my magic things. The school has allowed me to start a club here." He paused to put the potion on the shelf. "Did you need something?" he continued as he picked up a new vial to put away.

Krinan was standing in the hallway, watching his fellow classmate hang the poster and look incredibly happy with himself. He had been in the dorm room when Arthur had made it.

"You know, no one's going to join something they think is a hoax." Norse Paganist that he was, he wouldn't let some Saxon brat have the moment. "You should give them something to believe in you know, clapping and all that." Pushing away from the wall, he took out his notebook and began writing very precise runes onto a sheet of paper with a, ironically, magic marker. "Gnist," he murmured, and the words flashed away, leaving a tiny scorch mark behind. "Need to show them you mean what you say."

His family was rigorously Protestant. Their only son would, most likely, never tell them that he had converted to paganism in his first year of middle school. So fascinated by the subject, he had trained himself in the knowledge of runes and runic ensigns. It was by mere luck that he had the focus to use his gods' powers for himself.

At a, uh, much smaller scale. "A

Only a little. xD Sorry it took awhile, I was watching a movie. eyebrow_scone January 2 2010, 03:04:24 UTC
Arthur frowned at his roommate. "You don't know that people won't join. And do you always have to showoff like that? We shouldn't be doing things that cause a fire," he was eying the scorch marks.

"And I don't like the sound of 'demonstration.' What do you have in mind?" Though he didn't always get along with Krinan, he wasn't too terribly apposed to him when it came to magic. "As long as it won't cause too much damage to anything... Oh! I know, why don't we bring out the faeries?"

Aha, I was late because I was watching a movie so XD haugfolket January 2 2010, 03:11:57 UTC
"First of all, that would never cause a fire. The ink is the only thing that catches light." He had practiced enough to know. "And other people can't see the folk, you know. We might be able to, but most everyone else can't. We'd look stupid."

He walked closer, and touched the poster. "You forgot to put the meeting times on, can't you British people do anything right?"

That's pretty ironic. Ah, can we add Bela soon? She wants to RP again. xD eyebrow_scone January 2 2010, 03:48:42 UTC
Arthur wasn't pouting. He wasn't. "If they went to England, they'd be able to see them..."

Arthur sputtered at the accusation. So what if it was true? Where did he get off insulting his lineage?! "There is nothing wrong with British people! You're the one with viking heritage, so speak for yourself!"

Andrea cocked her head. "Black Magic...." She shook her head. It was probably some weirdo losers who didn't know the first thing about curses... but now she was curious. She opened the door slightly, peering in.

Arthur looked up from the book he was reading (it may of may not have been Harry Potter) when the door opened slightly. There was a girl outside the room, gazing in. "Can I help you?" he asked as he shut his book, but not before marking his place.

Arthur glared at the girl. "Arthur Kirkland. Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking someone else's name?" If she wanted to be rude, he could play that game.
