OK, I guess this post's a long time coming..... 9_9
But where do I even start?
I want to basically talk about the current atmosphere of our fandom that I feel might be a bit stifling to some of us in terms of critiquing GACKT or anything related to GACKT. I feel like there's a trend in the fandom where people can't criticize anything he says or does

From my experience there has always been fandom controversy over what Gackt says and does. There are fans who will criticize his actions and there are fans who will defend them. I don't think that's likely to change anytime soon. I don't believe everything Gackt says or does is good or acceptable, at the same time I do believe he is sometimes misunderstood, due to his own lack of anything resembling common sense. Like the statements he said there I didn't find those offensive. Mainly because I don't believe he intended to imply what a lot of people interpreted him as saying

I guess you and I have different ideas of offense. I tend to judge people more by there intentions, because people can say things that accidentally implies, what they didn't mean to say

Well, I do see your point, and if that's what you think, that's alright, too. ^^

All I am saying is that, at least 'by implication', he did say that women shouldn't smoke, at least not heavily, while it's OK for men to do so, because he specifically said 'women'. If he meant this in general, why would he have to specify women? That's all. I don't know what he REALLY meant by that, only he knows it, and I don't claim to know. It's just that it sounded offensive to me, that's all.

You are entitled to your own opinion, thing is these days, when you blog about it, people feel that it's become an arena, not for discussion of something, but just to see who can drown out the other in force of opinion, and then it just devolves and you wonder, what the heck were we talking about anyway?

I kept tweeting back with my answers for a while, but I felt like people were putting words in my mouth and assuming I thought this or that when I didn't even say anything like that, so it just stopped being a meaningful discussion for me pretty quickly. :/

Yeah OGYD is very.....positive enforced....But I'm usually more around the Gackt fans on Tumblr......ugh there's always some "fans" complaining about something. I do think, like you said, that sometimes fans can overreact to something he says or does. I guess that's why it seems like there's a lot of negative focus to me.There are always fans pointing out the unnecessary.(Not saying that disagreements are unnecessary, I just mean about a different topic). I usually don't see a lot of that on twitter, so perhaps it is more positive. I don't really have much of a Gackt circle so I wouldn't know on there XD
