I had a nice, fairly quiet weekend, one that's left me feeling fairly mellow. Here's why:

- No Line on the Horizon. God, I love this album. I've been listening to it all week long at work on my iPod, and any time I'm in the car. "Magnificent" is still my favorite song, but I'm also in love with "Breathe" and the title track, which I offer to you ( Read more... )

The new U2 album came out today -- after a four-and-a-half-year wait.

So far, I've only listened through once.

And all I can say is that I love it.

I absolutely love it.

This is a beautiful, gorgeous, epic album.

God, I love this band.

Holy frakkin' hell, last night's premiere of Battlestar Galactica made me remember why I love this show so much. We're being audited at work. Which means that my boss and two of my co-workers are all running around frantically gathering up stuff for the auditors, running reports and making copies (between us all we've used so much paper this past week that I think we've laid waste to a small forest). I got the new Keane CD today from Amazon. Once I saw on Amazon's site that it had been delivered, I spent the rest of the day being excited to come home and listen to it.

So I did just that. I came home and listened to it right away.

And I strongly dislike it.

For all my annoyance with television, sometimes it comes through in a big way. I would never have heard this song it wasn't for the latest show I've become hooked on: The 4400. I love this song. It plays over the end credits of Wall-E, which I saw again over the weekend with my uncle. God, I love that movie. I can't remember the last time I've been this affected by a movie. They may only be computer-animated robots, but I keep thinking about little Wall-E and Eve, and the world created in that movie, and how haunting it ( Read more... )
