It's inevitable sometimes, when thinking about the state of our world and our civilization, to be struck all over again at how just flat out awful things are.

So it's either reassuring or terrifying -- I haven't decided which yet -- to know that I'm not alone.

I'm off to Tampa for the U2 concert tonight. I'm very, very excited! It's been so long since their last tour. And the setlist has me all asquee. Getting to hear "The Unforgettable Fire" live will be worth it alone. And "Ultraviolet"! I haven't heard that one live in 17 years, since the Zoo TV tour.
