There's no place like home -- with a dog

Nov 16, 2009 10:26

I went to the vet first thing this morning and picked Kaylee up. I missed her so much!! It was terribly strange and lonely to come back Saturday night and have no puppy to greet me. And all day yesterday it just didn't feel the same without Kaylee here at my side, following me wherever I went ( Read more... )

She's a golden retriever. 5 years old, but I still call her my puppy. :-)

Welcome home! And, except for the whole Kaylee thing, sorry you're home, because I know you'd rather be there than here. That's one major way in which dogs are better than cats. Dogs are so happy to see you back, while cats are all, "Oh? You were gone? Really? I didn't notice. Did you bring me something good to eat?"

Sounds as if y'all had a wonderful time, but then how could you not? I can't wait to see non-pouring-rain photos from the London Eye!

Well we had a bit of a scare today, because I hadn't been home more than ten minutes before I knew something was wrong with her. She sounded all stuffed up and was breathing a bit funny and sneezing. So we've been back to the vet and they gave her a shot of antibiotics along with some pills, just in case the shot doesn't do the trick.

*sigh* This is the major reason I did not want to board her anywhere while I was gone. :-(

We had such a wonderful time. I absolutely did not want to come home -- but I'm sure you already knew that.

aaaw and I'm sure she missed her mommy as much as you missed her! I bet she's had more than one kong treat since bringing her back home ;)

Did you ever get those chewable peanut butter flavor joint things for Kaylee(that you were looking for during my last visit)? I thought about her today when my joints were stiff and sore from yesterday's yardwork.

I never did find those chewable ones, so instead I buy her some at Petco, a canine version. They're like biscuits, so she still thinks they are a treat and not actually medicine. :-)

Thanks! I'm still adjusting to the time -- I'm having a hard time staying up at night and waking up ridiculously early -- but it is good to be back at home again.

It was so, so strange walking into the house Saturday night and having no Kaylee there to greet me. Not a good feeling. :-(
