I don't think I want to use this anymore. Sorry to those of you who actually paid attention to what I was writing, but I think I'd prefer to stay in touch via email. It makes more sense to me. The sad thing about having such good friends is saying goodbye to them. Especially if you have to say goodbye to lots of them at the same time.

I got bit by a dog while reading meters today. It made me so happy! I finally have my dog run in and I got bitten and everything! She didn't break the skin, but I have a really nice bruise right above my knee from her teeth. Then I came home and hung out with Alanna and Mom for a while. Movie night turned into play night, which was wonderful. We watched The Christmas Schooner in the boathouse down by lower harbor. It was sweet and well done. And it's always nice to get together with Grubers. This morning Beth, Pat, and I went to the Renaissance Fair in Ishpeming. It was fun, although not necessarily what I'd expected. Finally a week of relaxing. I've spent a bunch of time with the little one (what we call Annamarie) and reading. Work has been pretty laid back. I stood around for a few hours today, just trying to figure out what to do. I was waiting for Jeff to get back from the base, and EVERYTHING was already done! Instead of going for a midnight hike and exploring somewhere new, we went for a midnight canoe ride down the shore. It was beautiful. I saw three shooting stars and LOTS of still stars. We visited the oar docks and Picnic Rocks. We almost got attacked and killed by seagulls. It was a really fun adventure and will totally be worth being tired ( Read more... )

Less than 13 hours until I am at Hiawatha directing traffic. We had a picnic at the park tonight and I saw the stage going up. You have no idea how excited I am. Except that the "storms" are just the crazy, busy, wonderful bits of summer that keep flying by. Yesterday and today were pretty laid back. Work was fun today.
