Today is the first day of classes and the teachers are all trying to figure out the schedule, find the materials they need, and make it to their classes on time. I was informed that I would not be joining classes until next week. Tsukune-sensei told me that most of the classes would be having orientation for the next three days.

I have not taught a single class today but the day has been wonderful! Kyoto Sensei took the time to introduce me to the Shucho…Shucho Sensei…no idea which is the correct way to address him. He would be the section chief (no idea what he is the section chief of). Andrea, what is his job?

It is my first day at Asahi Chu (my new Junior High School). The teachers have been very friendly to me even though they have been very busy. Kyoto Sensei (Vice Principle) is hilarious. I am sitting in the Funashima Sho teacher’s room and the teacher’s are practicing a song, I think they singing for graduation. The funny thing is that it is the theme song from Hana Yori Dango 2. The fifth year male teacher is pretty good.

It is my last day at Ami Daiichi Sho and I don't think my voice is going to make it. My throat has been hurting for the last two days and today my voice cracked once during first period and three times during second period. My voice may not make it through the day.

Some of teachers have all taken something and shoved it in their noses. It looks like a plug of shorts and I am hearing the term medicine thrown around. I really have no idea what is going on but I was shocked when I say the majority of the teachers with something shoved up their noses.

It is one of the dreary days where it would be wonderful to curl up in a comfortable chair, with a hot chocolate, and a good book. Unfortunately, that cannot happen because I am at work today.

This Sunday, for Japanese class, I am giving a speech about Christmas in America. Of course the speech is in Japanese. Today, I decided to read through the speech for the first time, I decided to do this in the teacher's room. Maemura Sensei heard me muttering it under my breath and asked me to speak up. Today is a desk sitting day. I am only teaching one class. On one hand, my butt is going to go numb from all of the sitting but on the other hand, I will be able to get my elementary school materials made. I also want to walk around the school and take some pictures so I can post them.
