Who: Linda, Beast Boy, Kite
Where: Beast Boy’s Room
When: Morning of the 15th. Day of the Honest Event.
Rating: PG-13, at most. I mean, come on. They’re a bunch of dorks. How bad can it get?
Summary: Linda, Beast Boy, and Kite meet up after Kite’s “woken up” from being “fixed” by Aura. Being the day of the Honesty event, honesty ensues (nowai!).

Linda had to admit, she was a little surprised by Kite’s sudden sniffing. She smelt good? Beast Boy agreed? Her heart fluttered. Even though she knew that she smelt good (only the best shampoos and conditioners, you know?), hearing them say that just made her day.

Well, now that Kite was close enough, and he was just floating there, seeming sad about being himself or something. I mean, come on. He could float, he was nice, he was cool, and like, he was absolutely adorable. Kite just needed to understand this himself, you know? So, well, he was there, and Linda was here, and he was sad, and Linda was happy, and today was just an odd day, and maybe that compliment from before had a little something to do with it, and before she could stop herself, she had her arms around the AI in a quick, tight little hug before quickly scooting away in case something else happened that she couldn’t control ( ... )

Kite frowned at BB's blunt statement, opened his mouth to protest, stopped, paused thoughtfully, then shrugged. "Well, I guess that's true," he admitted. Then he smiled and added, "You think my text is 'cute'?"

Now Beast Boy was writhing on the floor and Linda was hugging him and everything was just wonderful. Well, the writhing probably wasn't good, and he still wasn't quite used to spontaneous hugs, but it was wonderful anyway. "I'm glad to have you as friends... And I really like you both, too!" he said, looking between Linda and Beast Boy.

Unfortunately, unlike his friends, Kite didn't quite know the meaning of the word 'restraint' yet. So he just kept going. "I mean, I really like you," he continued. "You max out my emotional output. If it were any higher, my systems would malfunction, so I really, really like you! And knowing you like me, too, makes me very happy ( ... )

Beast Boy paused momentarily from his wriggling to consider Kite's words (well, and he was starting to get a headache, but that was beside the point). "...Really?"

Huh. So dudes dig the green ones too. He'd have to file that away for later. BB tilted his head back to stare at them both upside down. They really are beautiful, aren't they?

Oh, but that train of thought started a whole new bout of flailing as Beast Boy tried to scramble to his feet. "But-- I-- I do, but-- can it even work this way?! I mean, look at us! A green shape shifter, an Evil King, and a computer... guy. A-and there's three of us! This stuff only works on 'Threes Company', and even that was with two girls, not two guys. And Jack had to pretend he was gay, and I am not--...Okay, Kite, you totally don't count, alright? You're. You're Kite, and Linda, your horns are extremely awesome but what if-- ...no, nononono my brain did not just go there! And what if people-- no, wait, we're weird enough on our own, and Rob and Star were... THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT! What if ( ... )

When one lays in bed at night, eyes closed, drifting to sleep, and imagines themselves tripping, that jolt of surprise, that thump of the heart and stirring of blood is precisely what Linda felt. No, she wasn’t falling or reaching her arms to catch herself (in the physical sense), and no, it wasn’t a dream, either (though she constantly had to remind herself of this). But it was shock, surprise, and all of the above. Kite and Beast Boy, the ones in the mansion that she held most dear, liked-liked her back. Was it a Love Triangle? No so much. Best friends, who grew to feel a little something more after enduring laughter, tears, sorrow, and whatever else that fits in the spectrum of emotion. And hearing verbal confirmation of this was surprising. A jolt of happiness ( ... )

He nodded to Beast Boy. "I like your ears. They're very pointy," he added.

He wasn't entirely sure what the shapeshifter was talking about, but it had something to do with their friendship, right? "Beast Boy, what are you talking about? Why would you have to pretend you're gay? That's not a bad thing, is it? None of that matters as long as we're together, right? So..."

And now Linda was going on about roommates. Kite recalled when he first arrived, how he and Elk had decided to room together. He missed the Wavemaster a lot, but... they'd meet again for sure, he knew that, and he had become used to having a room to come back to. He wasn't so good at rooming alone. Kite didn't have to sleep very much, and he didn't have too many earthly belongings he couldn't just keep in his inventory. But if there was someone else to share that room with, he would have a reason to come back every night still--and having two reasons to come back was even better, right? And he really really liked Linda and Beast Boy. Not to mention it would make ( ... )
