Bunnies lurk in pairs of three.

That being said, I'm getting a quicker head start on Ch13 of Beast.  About 2000 words in, and the feel of this chapter is already much different.  It's not as dark and shifty, but it does get very political.  Caspian and Susan have had their first fight, but since they made up last chapter, expect happier scenes ( Read more... )

Yes, Susan is quite different in the books than in the movies. It makes it quite hard to really characterize her in fanfics, doesn't it? I think I remember from LWW that Susan was called Gentle because she was very compassionate and hated to hurt others or see them suffering. Which, I assume, is why she never fought in battles in the books even though she is an excellent archer. I expect book!Susan is quite faint hearted when it comes to blood and gore. As for politics, I do think that you're right and that Golden Age!Susan preferred to sit back and let Peter and Edmund handle things rather than meddle in the politics of ruling. I rather picture Susan to be more the "hostess" at Cair Paravel, the one in charge of the banquets and parties and entertaining guests ( ... )

I should write a scene where he pleasures himself randomly, just to screw with everyone. Then keep it as a reaccuring theme.

Lu: Where's Caspian? What's he doing in the corner?
Everyone: *shifts uncomfortably*

I was thinking about Su and politics after reading your post. As Queen of Narnia would she have outranked her suitors? If that was so, would she have stayed in Narnia if she had married? I just can't see Aslan having gone to all the trouble to bring them to Narnia just to have Su and Lu frolick off and pop out some half daughter of Eve babies.

I also wondered why it was that Susan earned the title of 'Gentle Queen'. Since the movies never showed it I pictured adult!Susan as some kind of person who always remained calm despite the circumstances, who could find goodness in things that others disliked, and forgiveness where others accused...

OK... does that sound a little too poetic? *shakes head*

I can easily see her disliking the Telmarine ways. She is strong. Not in the 'bloody warrior' way, but as strong personality who sees beyond the surface, with a clear opinion, and courage to speak her mind.

Would she think bad of Caspian because he's a Telmarine? Yes... and no. Caspian is not like others (read: Miraz), but he's grown up in a Telmarine fashion so he will have adopted the ways. Then again, is that a bad thing. No one is perfect. She'll have to learn to live with it...

And because I simply must point it out: the lines "()_()............()_()...........()_()Bunnies lurk in pairs of three." and "Bleg the Giant is a direct descendant from the Giant that attempted to ( ... )
