Love the mystery. Love that the evidence is piling up against Logan. And of course, love that Veronica says ILY to Logan first!

I liked that, too. Actually, that whole bit may have been for my benefit. I mean, with all this doom and gloom, even the author needed a bright spot. Thanks for reading!

Goodness. I'm going to miss you when you have those babies and I don't get feedback like this, because I'm greedy and selfish and did I mention how much I adore you?

The sentence about the DNA was a last minute addition. I wanted to clarify what I meant by "two matches," and that structure just worked. It got penciled right in.

I felt like I needed some kind of a sweet scene before everything went to hell, and I realized it worked in the context. On the other hand, I suppose it makes it that much worse, that they could have an awesome moment like that and her die before he ever got a chance to make things work between them.

Heh, I like (hate?) Mark Jarvis. He's a little shout out to everything I hate about journalism today. He's overdone and cheesy, and exactly how I want him. He'll be back, no worries.

I really wish VM hadn't have gotten cancelled before we got to see much Max/Mac. They could have been fun. And I totally agree - it's those little moments where you just are like, oh damn because whoever is gone ( ... )

No need thank me for the feedback, you've totally earned it.

"You will see them back at the Grand! In a few chapters. *smiles evilly*"
WAIT! I should have qualified that-- I want to see them at the Grand HAPPY! Happy, I say! NOT dark and twisty! Damn, why do I feel as if I'm too late...

The *smiles evilly* was mostly b/c you have to wait until chapter five for it! Not because I'm that sadistic. Methinks the part at the Grand is one of the nicer parts, actually.

OH, I almost forgot! earth2mars August 9 2007, 06:29:47 UTC
I also loved that Keith stepped down after all the damning evidence came in on Logan. I felt as if he had become so weary --that he was so disgusted and so devasted that Logan could do this to his child, that he just had to leave b/c his world no longer made sense. Am I reading that correctly?

That's part of it, yes. I also saw Keith as unable/unwilling to continue after losing Veronica. I honestly think she's the only thing that kept him together after the Lilly Kane fiasco. If not for her, I think Keith would have succombed to this much faster.

Hey, I hardly ever comment (I'm trying to get into the habit), but I thought I should say that I'm _really_ enjoying this.

I fucking love this story. It's so intriguing, and you've managed to keep the characters so real, and I can really feel everyone's pain. I love how you're drawing out the flashbacks, and scattering them throughout the fic; you give just enough information to make us raise even more questions. And I'm really enjoying the irony of the entire piece-- the comparisons to Logan's arrest for Lilly; Aaron's 'innocence'; the fact that the one person who would help Logan out of this situation is Veronica; the fact that Veronica told Logan she loved him just before she died. Although that last one just makes me sad, really. Although I'm not yet sure if we're supposed to take these flashbacks as fact-- are they what Logan remembers, what he says happened, or....maybe he's secretly crazy, and that's just what he imagined happened? I don't know, I just can't shake this feeling that you're going to tell us that Logan snapped, and he really did kill her. Eesh. I do like how all of the evidence points to his being guilty, and how their entire ( ... )

Oh wow, I didn't even think about that. I mean, I'm from Missouri. It's pretty much legal to carry a pistol from birth here. I'm checking the handgun laws in Cali right now, though I'm getting back some murkey responses. It seems as though you can have a rifle at 18, but not a handgun until 21, though there is a clause about the sheriff of a county being able to issue a concealed carry permit? Goodness. Hopefully, I can figure out what the truth is and address it. Thanks for catching that!

The flashback placement was intentional. My roommate last semester and I spent forever writing out all the scenes, past and present, then we started at a point and placed everything chronologically from that point, and then wove all the flashbacks through for maximum impact. So thank lazaefair for that. And as for those flashbacks, you can take them as what happened, if that helps.

Thanks for reading!
