Whats happening to rent? I dont pay enough attention to things so I have no idea but Rent was so amazing [DVD XD]. Took a bit to get into at first but love it :D I should watch it again. Damn its going on my ipod for the hospital.

It closes on Broadway today - well, Sunday. It's the last performance after the show ended 12 years ago. So you won't be able to watch it in NYC anymore, although the show's now going on tour.

Not sure if that will happen, it opened in London a long time ago and that's when I first saw it. It's closed since, so unless it's revived, who knows if it'll be back in the West End.

You can probably google the current cast. If you've seen the movie, Tracie Thoms, who played Joanne, is currently playing the same role on Broadway.

Oh man, I always knew I was easily influenced, but this is a new low. I read "dark chocolate Maltesers" and immediately had to pull out the chocolate I bought yesterday and start nomming it. Chocolate for breakfast again. *sigh*

Yeah, I don't quite deserve the title Renthead either. Love the show, very very much, but didn't live or breathe it in quite the same way. It must be so emotional for them right now.

I know. :( It's really sad and the end of an era - but the last live performance of the show was filmed and will be screened in US theatres. (Trailer here.) Which hopefully means we'll be able to buy a DVD of the show eventually!

Isn't Idina amazing in it, though?

And yeah, it really IS the end of an era, Rent closing on Broadway. SO SAD. It means you can't just go and see it live in NYC anymore, which is a little bit heartbreaking since it's so tied to the city, you know?
