I'm a 41 year old woman, who at 5'8" is now a lovely size 14. I weigh more than I did at the height of any of my pregnancies. Do I like how I look? No. Am I obsessed about it? No. I worry about my children's perceptions of weight equaling self worth. Noting makes me cringe more when I hear one of my younger two (boy - 11 and girl - 13) indicate that they need to diet or they're too fat. For the record, they're both sticks and bones. Whenever I hear this, I try to immeidately reinforce a positive, and realistic, body image. The funny thing is is that my children describe me as "skinny" which I find hilarious. Apparently Mom's are exepmy from the image issues. ha

Recently, my 13 year-old daughter needed a baby photo for the school yearbook. She rejected each and everyone because she was "too fat" in all of the photos! I was floored. Has the media tainted us so much that we feel the need to have skinny babies as well?

Oh boy, do I get that. I think extra weight on a guy looks terrible. And I know damn well that I think that because I'm projecting my own issues of what I don't like about my own body.

But I don't feel like that when I look at women. I didn't vote in your poll because I think all their bodies look good. Trying to decide which one I like best, I found myself going right past the bodies into wondering which one was most likely to enjoy drinking pints while wearing sexy boots and a little PVC skirt...

Wow, that is really sort of mind boggling to me. Men, generally speaking of course, are judged so much more so by their cock and wallet size that I forget they can have the same waist size insecurities that we do...

I totally hear you on the size 12/14 issue. Just whose 12/14 are we talking about here that makes the above women look like they still need a sammich.

But then again, those chicks are like 6'12" or something retarded height wise, so I guess if I was a GIANT then a 12/14 would make me look amazing, too.
