Rose hadn't been doing too much when she received the message on her mobile. The days were for the most part quite routine, horribly so for her. After all the last time days had been routine was when she had been a shop girl. So the vague message was quite welcome.
Helen took the time to look around at the city corner around her. Even after being in the city for months, she couldn't see the place as home or even a temporary home. It was a prison and she was trying to make the best of that prison. That was all.
It didn't take Rose long to reach the cafe. She waved when she noticed Helen looking in her direction. Not that the woman would've missed her brightly colored tee that day.
And she was. Five minutes late, but Cassie was there. Her hair was damp, slowly drying. It would certainly explain her lateness. She'd even attempted at dressing somewhat nicely for Dr. Magnus. Button down shirt, black skirt, and her boots. She didn't want to seem like she was trying too hard.
A yawn cracked her jaw a little as she lifted her hand to cover her mouth. "G'morning, Dr. Magnus. What's up?"
Helen smiled at the attire. It was amazing what would happen to one young woman when they met a lady. Almost if they wanted to prove they were just as refined and patient as the older woman. Not that Helen thought Cassie had to change. Well, clean up her language a tad, maybe. But, Helen was guilty of a foul mouth in her day as well.
"Did I wake you up too early?" Helen asked as Cassie sat down.
"Not really," Cassie shrugged as she sat. "Just...haven't been sleep well, is all." Still.
The waitress came by to check up on Dr. Magnus and see if Cassie wanted anything. She asked for a coffee and an order of bacon, eggs, and toast. As the waitress departed, Cassie looked back to Helen. "You don't mind if I eat, do you?" She asked, giving a small smile.
Helen sat back in the seat. She didn't want to seem as if she was rushing Cassie for an answer, but, she wanted to know as soon as possible. She'd have to have another talk with Mr. Wayne about how his side of things were coming.
James frowned at the text when he checked his cellphone, curiosity immediately switched on. It didn't seem serious, but he wasn't about to miss out on whatever was happening. It'd certainly be a great deal better than sitting around, anyway.
He left for the cafe with fifteen minutes to spare, and found himself there right on time. Spotting her out front, he tilted his head and tried to deduce in advance what this might be about. "This is business, I take it." Posture dictated it above everything else. Helen's body language was never exactly a mystery.
"Yes, but this time, you did the calling." James pointed out with amusement, taking a seat with Helen and lifting an eyebrow at her in his usual analytical fashion. "So, what can I do for you?"
Helen rolled her eyes slightly. Always the gentleman, James was. "I'll be opening a Sanctuary here in El Dorado. I thought maybe you would be interested?"
only a billion years late but holy shit time to breathe? i has it.agoldengunJuly 24 2010, 05:52:11 UTC

It didn't take much more but prompting from her mother for Ashley to be punctual. She usually was anyway, but that was beside the point. She strapped her weaponry on, as usual, then headed out. It wasn't a long walk, and the weather was balmy and pleasant. It was weird, actually, considering that half the time? It was raining back home. But she wasn't about to complain because of sunshine.
Ash spotted her mom the second she approached the little cafe, and her walk got a bit more brisk. She didn't waste time, either; just plopped right down. "What's up?"
"Did you honestly have to come out with your weapons, Ashley?" Helen asked with a sigh but shook her head. It was good she was keeping her guard up. It meant that she didn't trust the city. Which she shouldn't.
"I need you to come with me and do a final check of the building that will be the Sanctuary."

"Do I come any other way when I'm outside of comfort-zones?"
Helen knew better, and Ashley knew that Helen knew better. Her mom knew her patterns like the back of her hand; she understood her daughter's habits. The blond took the sigh with a grain of salt, and that little snarky smirk in the corner of her mouth would alert the older woman to such.
Her eyebrows rose, and she gave a nonchalant pout of her lips, accompanied by a shrug. "Sure," she acknowledged. She didn't really need to tell her mom that she was on board. But she wasn't just gonna sit there silently, either.
"So, you've done a pre-sweep already, right? Or are we heading in blind?"
No, no~ people have been busy! It's fine~notanemptymottoJuly 24 2010, 06:41:34 UTC
"One of the young women that has agreed to come on board was with me on the pre-sweep." Helen said. "It's very similar to the UK Sanctuary... almost identical. I believe it was the previous Central Mansion before the one we all came to was built."
Helen rolled her eyes at the pout. Ashley never changed. "The two young women joining our team along side James are Rose Tyler and Cassandra Hack. Have you met with them before?"
