Although I have put tiger hunting as the title of this review that is not really the essence of the story. I cannot recommend this book enough. I picked up a copy years ago in a garage sale for 50 cents and it proved to be an unexpected treasure. The author, Ivan Bahriany, was a Ukranian poet and intellectual who was sent to the GULAG in the 1930s ( Read more... )
