I'm glad you liked it! :D I was kind of worried that the end would be fairly obvious after my latest entry at mirsan_fics... But you should know by now that I can't go long without adding more angst into my fics.
I was happy to nominate your fic. I love your stories, and intend to nominate more in the future, both at the IYFG and Eiko, unless someone beats me to it. :D The only downside to all this awesome Mir/San fic is that it's so hard to pick just one to nominate and vote for come awards time...

:D Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I always struggle with the Inu/Kag portions (my Inu/Kag is pastede on yay!)... it's very reassuring to know that it doesn't come off that way to my readers. And of course I couldn't resist an opportunity for more angst. It's just too much fun.
(Now you've got me contemplating the next chapter already. And reincarnation. XD)
Interesting chapter. MS are becoming more attuned to one another. Kagura should stay out of IY's way. When he fought the dragon he gained control of the winds. She has no chance against him.
I'm glad someone noted Kagura's predicament. ;D Once Inuyasha gets Kagome and the others out of harm's way (for real), Kagura is going to be in a world of hurt. The hard part about writing a limited POV story is that I'm not sure I'll ever get to explain what I'm doing with her situation (and Kohaku's) beyond speculation between the other characters.
Yay, I finally had the chance to read your new chapter! :D it is awesomesauce, as per usual! I like that we're right back into the thick of things, in another battle, and that answers might just be coming soon - at least, why Kagura (and, by extension, Naraku) are/were interested in the vine demon.
I think you write Inu/Kag quite well - if you struggle with it, it certainly doesn't show. The idea that Kagome's having bad dreams is a bit worrying, as, IIRC, that's how it started for Miroku and Sango again, wasn't it? The dreams drew them back to the demon...Hmm. You leave me with lots of speculation and questions, but totally in a good way :)
Congrats on your nomination!! It sucks that there isn't 3-place voting at the Guild, because especially for Mir/San, there are definitely three stories I'd love to have voted for. I still have no idea how my little drabble got nominated for a romance category o.O but okay. It's nice to be among friends, hehe :)
I totally wasn't expecting you to find time to read this until you got back from your trip, so yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm not sure how many of your questions I'll be able to answer, since I haven't planned on adding any parts focusing on Naraku's group, but we'll have to wait and see what the next few chapters will cover. It feels so weird to be in the "home stretch" of this fic, so to speak, after writing it for almost two years. Too bad I only have like eight different ideas vying to be my next project. -facepalm-

I don't know if I struggle with the characters so much as the feeling that there's nothing I can do with them that isn't cliched or overdone. For some reason with Miroku and Sango I have lots of ideas that I haven't seen in very many other fics, if at all, but I don't have that with any of the other characters. My Inu/Kag feels (to me) like it's just rehashing the same-old, same-old.

Me neither, LOL, but it was certainly at the top of my list. Next on my list is trying to catch up with yumi-michiyo's stuff...seeing as I think she's updated both her fics in the last few days.

Probably because that's just exactly it - not as many people have been writing Mir/San as Inu/Kag or Sess/Kag or whatever. Less people writing = not as many cliches and badfic. It's hard to get the big pairing ships to feel fresh, but really, all you can do is attempt to stay true to their characters. Even cliches can be rewritten in a satisfying way =)
Thanks, and congrats to you, too! Perhaps you should take your nomination as a oh so subtle, especially with this comment coming from me hint that you ought to write more Mir/San sometime. :D*shifts eyes* Uh, actually...in my
