She had made no real commitment. Should Sniper note her absence, she could explain it, truthfully, as a schedule conflict.
But it was her choice, and so she came by, before her first shift, to see. Acting on impulse, she shut her eyes and called on the Force to conceal her before she crept unseen through preparations until she saw Sniper.
Juhani was tempted to uncloak just behind him, but she knew that such a thing was cruel and unnecessary. She uncloaked a few meters behind him and deliberately stepped on a twig so that it broke loudly.

"Juhani!" He said, brightening. "You came."
He half expected her not to have come, if he was being perfectly honest with himself. She didn't seem to like... much of anything, really. At least, not that he noticed. He wouldn't have been surprised if she didn't come at all, but her unexpected presence brought cheer to his face.
"Hey, happy late birthday."

She didn't want to think that way. After all...
...no, no, no. She'd told Sniper that she would be here. And she wanted to be here, to have fun, to be happy. It was plain silly to think of a birthday party as a reminder of all the bad things that had happened in the past two years. There were plenty of those... but there was plenty good, too. Like Sniper, for instance. And Cloud. And lots of other people that were still around, right? Right... doing her best to keep that in mind, Krile slid off the table and went to go find someone to talk to.

He had Bridge's journal with him, the much-loved and worn leather cover in his hands something of a comfort as he played the waiting game, dreading that his best friend would never come back but at the same time, knowing that he had to hope or else he'd drive himself insane.
Spotting Krile, he somewhat-hesitantly moved toward her; she didn't seem to be in much of a partying mood either.

She managed a smile when he started in her direction, glad to see him anyhow, and hugged him on a sudden impulse. He looked like he could use one.
"Hey there, mister. Want to get something to eat?"

Though the first to admit that he was the more subdued sort, Huo had looked forward to that evening, that event. The party was part of it - a welcome breather, cheerful and welcoming, when his life in Edensphere seemed to have been a leaf in a storm for weeks now - but a greater part was in anticipation of the fireworks display. It had been singularly bad luck that his first real experience with that new art form happened in the midst of horrific violence - violence that he had had to take first-hand part in. That was the issue. Not the use of fireworks as weapons - Huo liked weapons. He simply liked them in other people's hands.
Perhaps not a very virtuous thought, but a realistic one.
He bowed to Sniper in quick greeting - nothing too formal, striking a balance between his idea of good manners and the other man's rather different idea - and surveyed the collection of fireworks with an eager eye. "This will be very nice. What help may I give you at the moment?"

He gestured at the spread of packages in front of him. Their shape gave away what sort of fireworks they were, but he had hastily painted them as well for easier identification.
"You want to help me separate these into different categories? I think I've got what order to shoot them in pretty much figured out, but have you got any ideas?" Sniper scratched the side of his nose thoughtfully. "It'll go from smallest to biggest, of course."
