Sniper really wasn't sure how many people were going to show up to this party. If he was being completely honest with himself, he wasn't exactly in a party mood, so to speak. He had his misgivings about whatever was going on Edensphere these days. People were being put in cocoons and trapped in the elevator left and right, and the more often these things happened, the more uneasy he became. Not to mention Aim's disappearance. That certainly put a damper on the birthday girl's spirits.

Nevertheless, he wasn't about to stop the party for that. If they let these sorts of things get in their way, the Sphere would win. In the end, Sniper was just determined to make a few people smile. People seldom did these days.

At the very least, some shopkeepers in the vendor had been generous and had given him some free platters of food in exchange for free advertising and Sniper's assurances that he would pay them all back for some of it at some mysterious point in time. Hopefully people would bring food of their own.

He walked around the area and threw streamers and balloons haphazardously about and regularly scanned the distance for any possible guests.

Juhani had debated coming. She had two shifts of work today, and parties held no interest for her. Even negative interest, perhaps; she was no fan of crowds.

She had made no real commitment. Should Sniper note her absence, she could explain it, truthfully, as a schedule conflict.

But it was her choice, and so she came by, before her first shift, to see. Acting on impulse, she shut her eyes and called on the Force to conceal her before she crept unseen through preparations until she saw Sniper.

Juhani was tempted to uncloak just behind him, but she knew that such a thing was cruel and unnecessary. She uncloaked a few meters behind him and deliberately stepped on a twig so that it broke loudly.

Sniper turned around when he heard the twig snap behind him, surprised that he hadn't heard any footsteps before, but this thought went wholly forgotten as he turned to see Juhani's familiar face.

"Juhani!" He said, brightening. "You came."

He half expected her not to have come, if he was being perfectly honest with himself. She didn't seem to like... much of anything, really. At least, not that he noticed. He wouldn't have been surprised if she didn't come at all, but her unexpected presence brought cheer to his face.

"Hey, happy late birthday."

Seven had promised Sniper that he would come and help decorate for the party. He wasn't the sort of person to go back on his promises, so he made his way to the park with a few rolls of crepe paper streamers to use in decorating.

And then he actually got to the park, and saw what Sniper had already done to get ready. Seven almost dropped the streamers as he stared at the haphazard preparations, twitching slightly.

Sniper turned around when he heard Seven's approach, and waved cheerily at him once he saw the streamers. The cheer faded somewhat when he noticed his expression, however.

"Hey, you've come to help decorate, right?"

Sniper glanced behind him to make sure there wasn't a ghost or something creepy like that that warranted such an expression. There wasn't. He tilted his head and scratched at his cheek. "What, is there something on my face?"

And I'm horridly late again. Sorry about that. fragmentofagod April 10 2011, 01:22:10 UTC
"What are you doing?" He gestured at the scattered decorations. "It's absolutely disgusting!"

There had to be a place where Seven could put his armful of streamers down. "If you're going to throw a party for your friends you need to make sure the decorations aren't a disaster!"

Sniper stared at Seven for a moment, unsure of whether he should be bewildered or offended. He decided upon a sort of bewildered anger that only seemed appropriate, but it was rather half-hearted; he didn't have the energy to get involved in an argument like this when he still had everything else to prepare.

"What the hell are you going on about?" He said, a tad mildly. "They're fine."
