The moment Aurora thought things couldn't get any more ridiculous, they did. It was bad enough having the ants invade and being forced into the Wilderness, and while Manhattan had been a nice change of pace, it's normalcy only emphasized the strange event waking on the Ark had been. But to have his peaceful moment on deck, the only place that was relatively relaxing, disturbed by the sudden appearance of this- this thing.. Well, to put it lightly, he would have been angered if his mind could comprehend what he was looking at.

Ohhh, a bookish type, he seemed! She seemed. Well, Bernard couldn't really tell and didn't care of that matter, but intelligence was something one always strived for - human or tentacle monster. That, and Bernard couldn't read, so someone that could was very admirable.

Waving her suckers in the hair in a display of...graceful friendship, Bernard scooted and squished her way over to her newest friend, smiling only as a tentacle monster could smile.

Aurora tensed as he saw the creature move towards him, one of its many limbs waving menacingly. Reaching into his purse handbag, he pulled out his .45 sidearm, leveling the barrel at the monster.

"Cease your advancement at once." He warned lowly as his thumb flipped off the safety; he doubted it understood English, but he didn't want to shoot until he was sure it was completely aggressive.

Bernard stopped, making a sad, whiney noise that only a tentacle monster could make. She may have been a deep sea creature, but she still knew a threat when she saw it. Why pull a gun on her? She was only trying to be friendly and nice! See what happened when Bernard played by the socially acceptable rules.

She waved her tentacles again, TRYING to show this guy/girl thing that she just wanted to be friends!

Reverie was very new here, and despite how calm and collected he may have seemed, his mind was racing. Nothing like being dropped in the middle of an ark (that was apparently not always an ark) not knowing who you were or where you came from. Even for his own comfortable calm, he was a tad unsettled.

The deck was good for this. It allowed him to just walk, in his new clothes with his new journal, and thinking about his dream - the woman, the fox, the panther, the gem. He would reach into his pocket and think that if he thought about it hard enough, the gem would be there again. No such luck, though.

He startled when the enormous pink monster appeared on deck. A squid, perhaps. His curiosity wanted him to get close to it, but right now he stood, amused, from a distance.

That Aurora girl-man-thing was a total bust - Bernard had been nothing but friendly to him/her/it and this was the thanks she got! Maybe this was why she stayed deep under the water's surface, to lament and mope about her loneliness and troubles on her own. Or maybe not all humans were like that...

She made a clicking noise, looking around with her tentacle monster-ish eyes. Was it time or a massacre, or would she make new friends? It seems someone else had appeared on board, and like a horny moth with two minutes left to live, she wiggled her tentacles and moved towards the newcomer.

He was still measuring the pros and cons of getting close to it, when it appeared his decision had been made for him.

By the monster itself.

It moved towards him with an alarming amount of speed. It also wiggled one of the numerous tentacles it had, and, pretty assured there was no other option, waved back with a hand of his own.

"Hello there," he said, looking up at where its face must have been, "You're new here, too?"

Someone was...was speaking to her?? This was a miracle! Instead of running and screaming and avoiding her loving caress. Bernard chirped in her friendly squid manner and picked up the pace as best as she could. When she finally reached the man, she clicked and chirped again, taking his hand with two of her tentacles and trying to hold it and shake hands like she had seen many other people do.

Finally accustomed to the sea and the movement of the ark, Honest was free to move about and explore. Among the things he had found when he woke up under the deck were the things he had secured from the wilderness: odds-and-ends, clothes and a striped bucket hat he was quite proud of. Dressed in a new pair of jeans and a button-up shirt, Honest found his way onto the deck.

The breeze caught him off guard and he had to bring up a hand quickly to hold his hat onto his head. "Ooh~ this is interesting." He smiled at the fresh air, basking in it as he walked at an easy pace. Squish, squish...he paused and searched for the source of the noise. He had almost overlooked the pink creature the first time. He regarded it carefully, glancing it up and down before taking a step closer, "What is that...?" Curiosity got the best of him...and the flailing gestures didn't help deter any. "Hey there~!"

Could...could this be true? Could this be REAL? This man did not seem threatened by her. No, in fact he - she dare say - approached her with that single step. Bernard felt her heart flutter with hope. Not only that, but he was wearing a HAT. Bernard had a serious thing for hats.

Undulating her glorious body, Bernard hurried with a squishy fish out of water movement as best as she could.

He leaned back slightly as the creature stopped flailing and wiggled a little. He was not prepared for anything, but he had a great desire to move closer and investigate the cephalopod...that was at least what she looked like. He inched forward slowly, continuing to grin a little. "Should you even be out of the water?"

It seemed the thing was not capable of speech (...there had been stranger things, it was worth a shot), but still demonstrated some kind of emotions. It certainly didn't appear aggressive.

Oh, it was even better than she imagined! He was speaking to her, and he moved closer still! Could this be it? Could this be what she had been waiting all those lonely years, complaining sharing her tales of woe to oysters and cuttlefish? No, no it was even better than that...

THIS MAN MUST BE HER ONE TRUE LOVE! HER SOUL MATE!!

Bernard made a happy chirping noise. Of course, she had a squid-like beak and was not capable of human speech, but being a tentacle monster, she magically understood all human language all the same. She was almost dancing, her suckers dilating in glee. Oh, she must hold him close to her soft, wet, and sort of squishy body!

Finally, Throne thought to himself, when he finally managed to get himself on deck. It felt like he had been buried deep inside the ship for ages, which -- for all intents and purposes --- he had been. Walking across the deck now with big strides, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, he almost didn't notice the pink smudge on his peripheral vision.

He made a double-take. And then a triple.

Flopping about on the deck was something that appeared to be a creature made of strawberry Jello, only with tentacles and making what could only be described as a plaintive squishing noise.

"Oddly enough," Throne muttered to himself wryly, slowly setting his things down on the deck before moving to investigate, "I am not nearly as surprised as I think I should be."

Claw stepped out onto deck only a minute or so after Throne had emerged from the ship. Even though he already knew where the deck was, it still took him a long time to get anywhere--not only was he pretty bad with directions, but he was also a very 'my pace' kind of guy. His long ashen grey hair, a few locks randomly beaded with blue beads he'd found in the city, swayed in the salty breeze. It felt nice. He closed his right eye against the wind, his left eye safely tucked behind his eye patch.

But he hadn't come up to the deck to deliver food this time, nor to appreciate the breeze. He walked with purpose across the deck, stopping behind the other teenager, and staring at the squid. Tapping the other teen on the shoulder, Claw asked, "That squid. Think edible?"

Oh god, they're coming out of the woodwork now, Throne thought, turning now towards the source of the tap. He was surprised to find another teenage boy beside him, roughly his age, but slightly muscular and worn -- kind of an outdoorsy type. He started, giving the guy a narrow-eyed look; the eye patch and the beads make him seem like a hippie gone slightly awry. "Damn, you scared me," Throne said with a bit of a nervous laugh.

On the far side of the deck, the creature waddled and squelched and shook. In response, Throne took a step back, accidentally bumping into the boy.

"Ah, so it's a squid, huh?" He turned back towards the creature and squinted slightly, tilting his head as he studied. "Survey says that it's probably edible, but that means we're going to have catch it first. Catch it and then, well, kill it.."

Wait a minute, a small voice in his brain whined. What do you mean we?

Claw nodded firmly, an action he was prone to. "Squid that size, food many days. Maybe, no kill, just one arm. Fresh, still delicious. Maybe whole squid, can't finish, smell bad."

If he could make his arm into a claw again, it was possible that they could grab themselves an arm and make a run for it. But would the squid attack the ship then? As it was, the creature seemed... floppy and energetic, but not aggressive. If it were attacked, and then allowed to live, Claw wouldn't blame it if it decided to counterattack...

"Maybe get attack, others danger. That no good. Fishing better idea." He nodded again, more confirming his own idea than anything else.

Kazahana walked the deck slowly, not really paying attention to where she was going after her talk with Toushi. It had given her a lot to think about.

Still, the sight of a pink, wet thing did manage to give her pause. She stared uncertainly, not knowing what to do. Was this sort of thing normal for a boat this size?

Having just finished a decent meal, Sight felt like grabbing some reading materials and heading on deck. But most of his stuff was back in his cabin, and he wasn't in the mood to wander all the way down through the ship just to grab Victoria's Secret catalogs to stare at something to drool at disinterestedly skim through. So, to the deck it was.

Arriving on the deck, he did a quick scan just to find out which part of the deck he was on. His gaze fell on a young woman he'd never met before, and he would have approached her if that pink thing hadn't caught his attention shortly afterward. The masked man sneaked over to the girl's side before asking out loud, "Uhh, I'll take you're not quite sure what that is, either, eh?"

But Bernard knew very well what they were! Two possible friends - or lovers if she was lucky, given her last one true love had left her for another woman. How rude.

Waving her tentacles about, Bernard made her approach, wiggling her blob-like body towards the pair.
