Um, anyway, I am alive! I've been a bit swamped at work as we gear up for the 2022-23 rental season (Ithaca is a college town; our rental market is completely skewed by this) and try to finish up the dregs of move-in maintenance problems and virtual tour videos.

It's weird to be focusing on photos and videos instead of the press of rentals -- I find myself more inclined to drift off into websurfing when I am not actively out staging and unstaging apartments or chivvying Mr. Geniality into coming along to shoot videos.

1. Triage some work email. Because it's my day off, I only answer things I can do in like 10 seconds with a pre-written template. Everything else goes directly to Mr. Geniality.

2. Weeded the garden patch, which I really should have done in April but eh.

Small gardening update because I do not have the spoons for anything else.

(In summary, work = ALL THE OVERWHELM, GOD LOVE A DUCK WILL YOU PEOPLE RENT APARTMENTS A FEW AT A TIME, NOT ALL AT ONCE. You know what else is currently doing the "everything happens so much" trick? My church Board of Trustees responsibilities. *flumps*)

Some gardening and other botanical updates:

Dad arrived Thursday afternoon/evening, and was waiting in my apartment when I got home from work. We had steak, broccoli, and rice for dinner, because we could :)

My surgery was at 10:15am on Friday, with a check-in time of 8:45am. On the one hand, this meant I could get up at 7am and take my pills with some cranberry juice before the surgery. On ( Read more... )

I kept forgetting to start my seeds for this year's container garden (shockingly, a pandemic and two surgeries are kind of distracting!), but tonight I planted some jalapenos and two varieties of bell pepper.

I will start the spinach once I have bought like six cubic feet of potting soil, and I might attempt some lettuce again since that worked all ( Read more... )

1. Got up early, drove to the Not the IRS valley office, and successfully renewed my NY State tax preparer registration. \o/

2. Answered so many emails at the rental company office, under both my Collegetown and my downtown hats. Which is understandable, after we were closed for four days, but still.
