I got up a bit later than intended, and then took a little longer getting ready to leave than intended, with the net result that I left at 12:15pm instead of 11-11:30am, but my drive was pretty smooth and I made it to NJ before sunset, so it's all good. So, I am back home in Ithaca! Friday was a LONG day on the road -- about an hour longer than expected, actually, because of snow and sleet and such, starting in eastern Ohio. But we made it and got Chinese takeout for dinner, so that was okay.

It was a long day's drive, complete with an extremely frustrating runaround at one exit where we tried to find a bathroom, and molasses-slow traffic as we entered Chicago, but we made it and met Nick at the hotel.

We have one normal hotel room and one suite, which connect via a double-sided doorway.

Nick and I left the island today and are now at his house in the Twin Cities. We left at 4pm, had dinner at The 502 (the restaurant attached to Chase on the Lake in Walker), and then continued south while Mom and Dad returned to the island for one more day.

It turns out that my family changed the plan and then I think my mom and my brother both assumed the other had told me of the new itinerary, when in fact I had not been informed at all.
