Characters: Takion, Open Where: Park When: Sometime during third stage mod!plot Summary: With no cuffs, Takion decides to take advantage of being able to write pretty nearly anything that pops in his head. Warnings: WTFery?
"So is this what you dream in your spare time?" Alic had to interrupt the writer. In her hand was the weapon that she had longed for most, but now sharp as a tack and just as deadly. The other weapons were at her disposal too, of course, including the weapon Alice was very careful with: her mind. Like Takion, this was a power Alice possessed: she realized its capability when she went into Samus's mind. Still, after all that had happened in her world, Alic had been cautious about using it except to regain those weapons again once she realized she was able.
"And what will you do next?" Alice asked. "Surely, if you can 'create' my story there is much more within our grasp."
Takion peered up from the pages to regard this Alice - so different and yet so like his Alice. Seeing that she was armed, he wondered if she'd come to finish what his Alice had attempted. Although it could just as likely be that she was being sensible in these dangerous times.
"I was thinking of singing stones," Takion said with a wry smile. "Though I'll not press too hard. Wouldn't want to upset them." A gesture overhead indicated who the "them" Takion referred to were.
Alice watched the man carefully, and gave hi a reassuring, albeit eerie, smile. "I haven't come to do you in, if that's what you're thinking. Rather, its nice to have my weapons back, and if our little ordeal last time taught me anything, its to be prepared. Not that I wasn't then of course, but in that case, I was ready to die. That not being the case anymore, I find it in my best interest to live."
Alice looked around. "Cheerful, I'll give you that. Still, I'm afraid it doesn't quite fit my decor, no offense. The years no doubt have changed me, and with that change comes different tastes."
Alice closed her eyes, and the seemingly quiet patch o land before here was replaced by a different backdrop: green vortexes in am eternal spin, ghostly noises whispering things, and a charred ground before them, seeming as if all the life had gone from it.
Takion studied this new landscape and shuddered. His own Alices would never have wanted a story that took this sort of shape; not unless he assured them of a happily ever after at the end. And looking at the dead land, Takion could certainly give no such assurances.
"This is a painful tale to gaze upon, Miss Alice." The author barely suppressed a shudder at what he saw. He could only hope that Alice would put things back as they had been.
Faye decided to go out for a smoke. Not that Faye couldn't smoke in her room; she usually did. But Faye was also bored, and sitting around in her room by herself wasn't doing much for that. So she took herself and her new magically-acquired cigarettes of nicotine happiness outside for a stroll
( ... )
For the moment, Takion remained unaware of being watched. He did, however, glance up from the pages to admire his handiwork. "What next?" he asked to himself, tapping the end of his pen against his cheek as he thought. "A dragon-fly, perhaps?"
Faye doused the flame of her lighter and snatched the cigarette from her mouth, continuing to gape. She tried to put a sentence together. "Mister... Strange Person... things!! ...Are you doing that?!" ...Well, that was sort of successful....
At the sound of a flustered woman, Takion's attention was caught. He blinked and eyed the woman appreciatively. While his taste in women ran to blondes, this one had other assets that he enjoyed as well. "This, you mean?" he asked, gesturing at the small area of changed landscape around him. "I am indeed."
Morty looked confused when he suddenly smelled muffins in the middle of the park and came to the conclusion that they were growing on a nearby tree. "... Interesting. Are you doing that?" he asked the man leaning against it. He was fairly sure it had been a normal tree a few minutes ago.
Again Takion's attention was drawn from his writing as he looked up to spy a young man. "If by 'that' you mean the change in scenery, then the answer is yes," Takion answered with a grin. "If you mean something else, then probably not."
Morty laughed. "I have to admit I've never seen a muffin tree before. Or a..." He hesitated, not quite sure what the furry flying thing was. He gave up and just gestured at it. "One of those."
Takion couldn't help but preen when the young man laughed. He did so love it when his works were enjoyed. "You may want to harvest some if you're a bit short on food. None of this will stay for terribly long. Wouldn't want to upset our shocking friends, after all."
Riza was glad to be armed again. The familiar weight of her rifle on her back was welcome. Normally, she just kept her two pistols with her at all times, but right now she wanted all of her guns with her. Yes, she was a bit paranoid.
She paused when she got to the park and noticed flowers sprouting candy and decided to take a look. She gave Takion a small smile. "Oh, hello."
Looking up, Takion spotted the young lady who'd been around the last time he'd been at the park. He kept thoughts of what had happened that last time firmly out of his mind, for he didn't want those memories to taint what he created now. "Ah, the young kitten. Hello, my dear."
She knelt down by one of the flowers as her tail swayed behind her. "This is an interesting power you have." She said as she looked at the gumdrop with a slight smile. It had been a long time since she had seen candy...and she had never seen it growing out of a flower.
"I would hope it's interesting," Takion responded with an amused laugh. "It's a sad, sad day when the imagination is dull." Seeing Riza watching the flowers, he added, "You're welcome to try them. They should be quite tasty."
Yamato kept himself usefully occupied most of the time, but at the moment, he was just wandering through the park, his thoughts drifting here and there without much to keep them anywhere.
Then he caught the scent of muffins, and blinked. A slow smile touched his face as he saw Takion and he wandered more purposefully over.
"This really does make Econtra seem just a little bit more like home," he said. Muffins on the trees were absolutely normal in the Digital World, after all.
At the sound of Yamato's voice, Takion chuckled as he felt a sense of deja vu. If his memory served correctly, it was through this same sort of situation that he'd met Yamato, after all. "From what I know of your home, m'boy, I should like to see it someday."
Yamato grinned; he remembered that first meeting as well as Takion did. "If we can make it possible, I'd love to show it to you." He thought Takion would really love the place...and it would love him.
Takion motioned for Yamato to have a seat beside him, and then glanced up in annoyance as the squirrel dribbled crumbs on his head. "I intend to see it one day," Takion promised. "When this is all over, I shall not give up until there is a way to stay in touch with all of my dear family."
