It had arrived in the same manner as its birth, the massive discharge of energy still smoldering the crater formed where the strike connected with the ground. Twisting and pulsing, its contained form was immediately aware of the pitiful organic creatures surrounding it, trapped like insects in a too-small hive.
It released a high-pitched
roar and

This hideous Thing of parasitic energy had just swallowed the lives of a handful of Drafted in mere seconds. A weaker (some would argue smarter) man would have fled in the face of this horror, pleading for sanctuary and screaming for deliverance.
Not Solomon Kane. If it was His will that he would finally perish this day, he would die in fight not flight. And mayhap take this foul creature with him.
"Out on ye, spawn of Satan!"
The wanderer levelled both his flintlock pistols, twin blasts of thunder unleashing two shots into the center of the bright mass. The power of He who had Kane's trust was encapsulated within; the damage dealt would be more than that of material pistol balls.
But he did not wait for any effects. The pistols fell even as the Puritan drew both his trusted rapier and N'longa's juju staff, bounding forward with the dire speed of a famished wolf. The divine rage that had burned within for months was free at last to mangle and slaughter this destroyer of worlds.

In response to his arrogance, the orb of darkness lashed out with lightning strikes of powerful proportions. Kane would feel the power of his card, surprisingly, slip, despite the supposed nature of its invincibility. For no it allowed him to be flung from the Entropi's form without harm as a electric flail struck him...but would it last through another attack?

And then she spotted it - a glowing orb hurling lightning around. Even though this wasn't The World (the lack of thrumming boss battle music cinched that), Hiiragi decided to try her spells before engaging in direct battle. There was a spell that slightly lowered magic attack, and Hiiragi wanted to see if that would take some of the snap and sizzle out of the lightning. Flipping open her fans, Hiiragi concentrated, focusing her attention on the orb. "Dek Corma!" she called out, sending the spell racing towards the enemy.

Crackling streaks of lightning left its darkened center suddenly, three tendrils of pure energy ripping out of its inner nothingness in a blaze that could easily leave tracks of after-glow searing across someone's eyes. The triple attack bore down on Hiiragi without mercy.

"Dick!" he shouted, skidding to a stop when he caught sight of him. His eyes caught on the rough bandage around his arm. "Oh, Hell--what happened? Are you okay?"

Dick had been holding back due to the reactions of the glowing orb. There seemed no point in attacking it if it was going to grow a little more each time, but there had to be a way to destroy it..right? Dick gripped one of his Escrima sticks in his mouth as he tightened the bandage around his forearm, a good amount of blood had seeped through but he didn't have time to tend to it at the moment.
Dick ran at the orb and leapt stabbing the end of one of his Escrima sticks into its surface in a lower area than most people had been attacking it. Somthing told him he was going to regret that move.

As Dick advanced on the Entropi, Tim followed, swinging his staff out into the Entropi next to Dick's attack, hoping that the combined effort would be more effective than a single blow.

Biting back the pain, Toshi ripped what was left of his jacket apart and did his best to wrap the wound to stop the blood. Part of him wanted to just run for it, let the magic users take care of that thing but he couldn't...it was here to kill him. No, not just him, it was here to kill Atem, Sora, Jing, Cassis, Yuuko, Zel... Suddenly, the pain and the fear didn't matter; maybe the shock or the blood lost got to him because he snapped. Gun drawn, Toshi yet out an almost inhuman scream and began firing on the Entropi. “You’re not taking my family, you son of a bitch!”

Ssil seemed to lose hope as she saw the Entropi. "How can we do anything againsst that?" the reptilian girl whispered.
The chimera's eyes narrowed. "We have to try. This time, we aren't running scared. I'm not losing any friends to this thing."
The two ended up next to Toshi. Ssil eyed the Entropi nervously, trying to work up the courage to get close enough to attack. Toshi's wound caught Zel's eye. "Dammit, I wish I could heal," he whispered. Oh, well. He could do the next best thing - and that was taking the thing down quickly.
"Source of all souls that dwell in eternal and infinite, everlasting flame of blue. Let the power within my soul be called forth from the infinite!" Zel took a deep breath, then shouted, "RA-TILT!" A rush of blue flame hurtled towards the Entropi.

“If you’re friend isn’t here to fight she needs to get to the Arena, it’s the safest place we got.” Toshi wasn't trying to be mean, but right now wasn't the time to have people who couldn't fight in the way. As Zel unleashed the blue flame Toshi begin to fire.

Ssil nodded, still looking worried. "All right. Um... Be careful." She zipped off, weaving slightly as she tried to get the hang of controlling the spell.
The chimera turned his attention back to the battle. "Things don't seem to be going our way much, do they?"

Alex Noah, whose shield had just saved his life, hadn't gotten to know any of them. Maybe some were bad people who the universe would be better off without. There was no way he could say that for certain about any of them now, much less anything at all. What he did know was that these were people. Real people who had had lives and their own stories to tell.
Entropi or no...it was going to pay.
The Dragonmaster sprang to his feet as soon as the Warden's command reached his PDA. Anger overrode his sorrow for the slain as he dashed out onto the Commons to help avenge the fallen.
And yet...Alex did not attack. Instead he clasped Althena's Sword before him, closing his eyes as the voice in his mind reached out, or tried to reach out, to an old friend beyond the stars.
Nall, if you can hear me... lend us your power. We could use it right about now.A burst of energy suddenly ripped through Alex in answer. ( ... )

A searing crack of blazing energy was also offered to Quatre for his trouble to stop and try and warn Alex.
