[ENTROPI] The Attack (ALL Chars)

Mar 27, 2008 04:04

It had arrived in the same manner as its birth, the massive discharge of energy still smoldering the crater formed where the strike connected with the ground. Twisting and pulsing, its contained form was immediately aware of the pitiful organic creatures surrounding it, trapped like insects in a too-small hive.

It released a high-pitched roar and ( Read more... )

This was no Man.

This hideous Thing of parasitic energy had just swallowed the lives of a handful of Drafted in mere seconds. A weaker (some would argue smarter) man would have fled in the face of this horror, pleading for sanctuary and screaming for deliverance.

Not Solomon Kane. If it was His will that he would finally perish this day, he would die in fight not flight. And mayhap take this foul creature with him.

"Out on ye, spawn of Satan!"

The wanderer levelled both his flintlock pistols, twin blasts of thunder unleashing two shots into the center of the bright mass. The power of He who had Kane's trust was encapsulated within; the damage dealt would be more than that of material pistol balls.

But he did not wait for any effects. The pistols fell even as the Puritan drew both his trusted rapier and N'longa's juju staff, bounding forward with the dire speed of a famished wolf. The divine rage that had burned within for months was free at last to mangle and slaughter this destroyer of worlds.

The projectiles seemed to part the energy only for a brief second, and then the orb reformed around the dispersals without seeming afflicted. As though to prevent further attacks, it lashed a bolt of energy at Solomon.

Kane crossed staff and rapier before him in an instinctual attempt at warding off the bolt. It found resistance on the white sphere that suddenly materialized before him. Young Alex Noah's spell was a veritable dam keeping a roaring flood in check. But all too soon the sphere shattered under the Entropi's ferocity and battered down the extra shields Midna's gift had provided. Kane caught the very tail end of the attack ( ... )

That card might provide Kane with...temporary...protection, but that didn't mean that the weapons he came to bare on his enemy had anymore effect than a dog's teeth on a wisp of fog. The energy present in his weapons was drained away almost instantly, ripped from the weapons, at least temporarily until they could recharge their powers. The bullets and staff themselves slipped through the Entropi's form as if passing through a loose pile of sand, leaving no mark or hurt upon the whirling cloudy surface.

In response to his arrogance, the orb of darkness lashed out with lightning strikes of powerful proportions. Kane would feel the power of his card, surprisingly, slip, despite the supposed nature of its invincibility. For no it allowed him to be flung from the Entropi's form without harm as a electric flail struck him...but would it last through another attack?

The cloudy entity's lashes came at less frequent intervals as it seemed to be focusing more on those that were attacking it directly, rather than those escaping around the fringes.

Suddenly the smoky orb went silent, crackling flails ceasing completely...

...then with a flaring roar of power, a wave of electricity burst from within the Entropi's shadowy frame, striking out at those closest to it. It was potent, jarring, but not as infinitely destructive as the whips had been. It seemed the Entropi was exchanging individual strikes for more massive damage at a closer range.
