[TRAINING] Defensive Physical/Spectral [Arena]

Dec 11, 2007 18:47

"Residents," the Warden called, managing to be heard about the general noise of the assembled crowd without seeming to raise his voice at all. "Those whom have gathered here should be assigned to the DEFENSIVE COMBAT training division. If you are not part of this group, you are in the incorrect designated area ( Read more... )

After Tracey had heard the announcement he walked towards the Arena, a tad annoyed at starting training NOW. "Hello?"

Xiao was excited. Fighting with things was fun - she hoped she would get to do some of it before the day was over. She bounded into the arena on all fours with her slingshot carried in her mouth and a collection of fresh pebbles clattering in her pocket. She stopped in front of the first person she met and took her weapon out of her mouth to smile up at him.

"Hi there!" she said.

Right in front of Tracey was... a catgirl? Well he's seen stranger things. "Nice to meet you. I'm Tracey."

"Hello, Tracey! Xiao is Xiao," the little catgirl declared. "Are we going to train together?"

Johan walked into the Arena and immediately began to look around for any familiar face. He wasn't too thrilled at the idea of fighting, as it seemed that was all he was doing lately, but it didn't appear he had much of a choice in the matter.

Ryou was feeling about as well as he normally did these days as he entered the Arena and glanced about thoughfully. He really wasn't much into fighting physically, for more than one reason, but defensive of some type he hoped he could deal with. He didn't like being uncertain about any of his capabilities, however.

When he spied Johan, he began towards him at once, thinking that at least there would be someone he knew to an extent there. It would be better than nothing.

He had a single transmuted kitten in its hand, mewling sadly, as he made his way through the crowd. He did his best to keep a happy face, but it was hard to do - still no sign of his brother.

Nevertheless, he saw some kids who looked his age milling around, and he went over, petting the plush kitten all the while.

"Hi.....Um....are you guys with anyone?" he asked.

Johan was very relieved to see Ryou approach him. While he and Ryou weren't exactly close, they had at least spoken a few times.

And then another person came up to them, somebody he definitely didn't recognize, who seemed to be holding a kitten. He shook his head at the question. "I'm Johan."

How dull. Training time. Goodie, Goodie. The demon was less than impressed but no matter. No matter. With little else to do he may as well relish in the opportunity to defend as what great and nobel honor such a thing would truely be. Not he was just bullshitting with himself. More honestly it was a perfect opportunity to see exactly what they were going against and exactly what leverage these cuffs gave when in situations as such. Furthermore perhaps some good opportunity to crush things. In the art of defence, of course.

The sound of silk - fine reds to be exact - and shimmer of gold and metal rang through the halls with slow and almost elegant movements. A figure sunkissed golden skin with but the bottom hanging low upon his hips and golden clasps and jewels came forth into the area. He didn't bother to forward or greet much of anything else having no interest in the useless welps about him so far. Instead, Shukaku for now stayed silently by the back.

Elda was beyond annoyed. She was cranky and half-asleep and had to pull on a thick cloak to block out the sun, her umbrella being used to block out the sun.

Once she stepped into the Arena, however, she was pleasantly surprised to find that the sun's effects on her were negated. The general feeling of being too warm was still there, but it wasn't unbearable and the burns she at the seams of her cloak where she couldn't block out the sun were beginning to heal.

Huh. That was interesting. At least she knew she could be SOMEWHERE in the sun around here if she needed to.

So, to business! A group. Group. Group. Group. Group!

"You! You're with me!" she declared, latching onto the first person that she saw - which happened to be Shukaku.

The room was quite full of unique scents. However at this moment the redhead was not dwelling on diner. Hueless eyes making no appointed contact with anything and merely watching over the croud for now. A not so pleased or enchanted look upon his face.

Mm.. he could go for some nice sake right now. Shukaku mused running slender golden digits over an opposing collar bone and paying little to no attention to this filth about him. That, or a nice nap. Ah but both would be even better.

It was within those musings he heard a sound closing in and clasped around his waist. Shukaku looked down to a female around him. He had at this moment little quarrels about such contact. Something about her seemed.. different.

"So it would seem," he mused with a voice smooth and deep as ember.

Wow! She'd latched onto a cutie! He wasn't up to the same standards as James had been, but he was tolerable she guessed. And she couldn't sense too much love in him, so he was either something a few degrees away from human in the biological sense or a complete and total sociopath.

Elda could deal with that. Right now she was basking in the fact the Arena was letting her walk in the sun itself. So she took a step back from him and let her coat and hat and gloves fall to the ground as she pulled them off and tossed them about carelessly, figuring she would leave when the sun went down and it was safe.

"Elda Marker, at your service," she introduced herself with a flourished bow and then span in place, bbasking in the sunlight she hadn't been in since she was a very little girl.

Bushroot was almost glad to get away from the incessent sound of the mistletoe insisting that everyone kiss someone. He loved plants, but he did want a bit more variety in his conversations with them. So with training beginning at last, he hoped that he could have someone new to talk to.

But that didn't make him very eager to make the first move. He stood where he was and tried not to be too nervous about anyone approaching him. People tended to like him here, for some odd reason. It couldn't be that bad, could it?

Ahiru wasn't exactly sure what she was supposed to be doing here. All she knew was that they'd been told to get into groups. She'd planned on sticking with Achmed, but had unfortunately lost track of him.

Not sure where to go or what to do, the little duck stood by a strange plant. She didn't give it much mind. Everything seemed strange in Econtra. And this was coming from someone whose ballet class was taught by a cat.

Bushroot looked over at the person who came there and shrugged to himself. He might as well say something. "Hi. I'm Bushroot." It was a start?

Someone introduced himself, and Ahiru started looking around for who it could be. All she saw, though, was that strange plant. Could it have been the one to greet her? Feeling a little foolish, the duck responded, "Um, I'm Ahiru."

Ryuk looked for his group the cheap way.

He dropped his Death Note on the head of the first person he came across to be certain they could see them and then waved "hello!"

Then he waited for their reaction.

The first thing Maes noticed when he walked in was a book being dropped on his head.

The second thing he noticed was a man with large, black wings greeting him, who hadn't been there before.

...Well, he couldn't say that he hadn't seen invisibility before, so...

"Hello," he greeted back. "I didn't know there were others who could make themselves invisible."

He waved at Hughes with toothy grin then took back the Death Note.

"Hyuk, hyuk, hyuk, and you can?"

"Well, in a word..." Well, everyone who he'd been hiding it from knew now, so why not use it? Activating his ability, he felt the familiar rush of his molecules beginning to alter their manner of reflecting light... or something along those lines, anyway. There's probably some rather lengthy scientific explanation of all of this, but skipping all that... he activated his ability and felt the familiar rush of his molecules becoming invisible to the average human eye. Of course, he still didn't notice that the cuff didn't, but oh well.

"Yes."
