Today was our 51st Anniversary. Friends Gail and Jim were going to take us out to lunch, along with daughter Tracy, Joe and Maria. When we walked into the restaurant . . . grandson Josh and his girlfriend (up from Miami) were sitting at the table. Ordinarily, from day to day, I don’t think much about the weather, just take whatever comes. We have been having some quite warm summer-like weather here lately (close to 90 temps with humidity building) and I was getting a little bit concerned about how hot it would be on Saturday since I was hoping most of the party would be outside. I do love infrared and the otherworldly feel and look it gives to photos. Sometimes I purposely only take the infrared camera with me so I am forced to shoot just these kinds of pictures. It's a challenge to find what works best and will give the most dramatic effect, because not everything is worthy of or works for infrared. I shot this one ( Read more... )

I guess the news around here at the moment is the big storm we had last night. We didn’t have any real damage, just a lot of debris blew out of the trees and one of the metal benches at the fire pit blew over. My wonderful girls, Laurie, Tracy and Maria took me to breakfast this morning. After we ate, we took our picture together. The girls got some with their phones, then I pulled out “little red” and we asked the next person who walked by to take our picture with my camera. (I just can’t get used to taking pictures with a phone.)

Maria, Tracy, Laurie and I all went to Mixon’s Fruit Farm today. They were having a craft fair and mini carnival. Lots going on and lots to see. I wanted to check it out and see if it would ever be a good venue for me. I decided a definite NO on that one.
