Maria, Tracy, Laurie and I all went to Mixon’s Fruit Farm today. They were having a craft fair and mini carnival. Lots going on and lots to see. I wanted to check it out and see if it would ever be a good venue for me. I decided a definite NO on that one. I really don’t want to do any shows anyways and being in the gallery (and doing the Holly Faire once a year) and my commissions are more than enough for me.

There were a couple of glass vendors there and I was looking at their work. As we began talking, I asked how they were doing. Both replied this was their first year for this sort of thing and not doing too good. I told them I understood and I tried to build their confidence and give them encouragement, telling them not to give up or be discouraged. . . . to just keep on trying. I offered some marketing advice and tips on their glass work. They both were very grateful for all I said and by the time I walked away, I felt good to be able to help someone as others had helped me when I first started doing glass 23 years ago.

We asked one of them to take our picture with Laurie’s cell phone.

It was such a good day all around. I am very grateful.
