My sister, egg_shell crocheted this afghan for me a few years ago and mailed it down to Florida. She made dozens and dozens of the little shapes called ogees and crocheted them all together to make the beautiful afghan. Last night was just the best time! Pete and I, Tracy & Joe, Laurie & Geoff got together at our house for pizza and games. I saw my first version of what I call “tree people” many years ago. Strange, different and unique, and I have always wanted one. Well, Joe and Tracy got me this one for Christmas, and Pete and I put it up today on an East Palatka Holly that we’ve had for almost 20 years. So many frangipani flowers dropped during the last few days of winds and rains here. I went around and picked a lot of them up the other morning and placed some in one of the birdbaths. At sundown the last rays of light caught a few and put them in the spotlight for one last bow before the curtain came down.

I have had a horrible sinus infection beginning right before Christmas, so I have been sort of absent in the kitchen area for awhile. This onion stayed hidden among the pottery and was not noticed until it started sprouting a top from behind the butterfly bowl. It’s been this way almost two weeks now and still growing.
