Now that I've had some time to think about the ending of BSG I want to say that the finale was emotionally satisfying, and matched the level of quality that I think the series held to as a whole. The problem with what the movie studios have done with having multiple releases of everything on DVD is that I no longer want to go out and buy something when it first comes out. I saw Benjamin Button. Miserable movie which just left me feeling horribly sad and thinking about growing old and dying. I keep thinking about the only thing my mother's mother ever really said to me. "I'm getting old. I don't want to get old." I'm looking for the wisdom of the crowd. We are currently on a 5.25% fixed rate 30 year mortgage. Rates for 30 year mortgages are currently at 4.875%-5%. We booked it! It's a 12 day cruise round trip from Rome. We'll get to see Pompeii, and Athens, and Alexandria, and Turkey, and Rhodes, and Naples, and some other places. We lost power Thursday night and it still isn't up. It was very cold in the house until Ann's parents arrived with a generator from LI. We have had heat for more than a day now (when we're running the generator) and we now have cable. There are electrical crews from Ohio and all over the place here. It's impressive ( Read more... )
