Underwear, or, Conversations with a 9-year-old boy
Yesterday I went to Target to stock up on some things. I got myself some much-needed socks and my kids got socks and underwear. But I had made a terrible mistake.
"Mom!" my son said. "I don't like the underwear you got me!"

Lived in Paris for 5 weeks. That was pretty amazing.

Christmas bounty
So the best gifts I got this year were the Sunbeam stand mixer, tickets to see The Killers in February, and pictures my sister took of the kids that she then had made into 5 X 7 and 8 X 10 framed prints. Yeah, that last one was pretty awesome and unexpected.

I'm busily posting to my Livejournal account from my new/old cell phone while we hurtle down the freeway towards our hometown. Dear Husband is driving, the younger kids are quietly playing on their new handheld video game devices, and our teenager is occupied with her new (new, for real) cell phone. semester break
Five weeks of blissful freedom lies before me....it's such a nice feeling. Just took my last final today. I'm cautiously optimistic about it; I won't make less than a B, but I'm not convinced it was A quality work, either. My brain just could not function this morning. Tough. But I slogged through, and it's all done now, and I can relax.
