1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
Lived in Paris for 5 weeks.  That was pretty amazing.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes!! Our dear friends have a tiny baby girl!  She was born just before Christmas so pretty much all she does right now is eat and sleep.  And poop.  Can't wait till she's an active 3-month old.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not last year.

5. What countries did you visit?
France.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
My degree.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 20th.  It was my last day in Paris.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I got a Senior Achievement award from the English department.  That's about it.  Kind of sad, actually.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not maintaining my weight.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My stupid knee went out in January and de-railed my plans to run a half marathon.  I'm still pissed about it.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My husband bought me a Sunbeam stand mixer.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My daughter, who, after some really bad decision-making over the summer, really turned it around.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Everyone at AIG and all the other a**holes who took down the economy through sheer greed.

14. Where did most of your money go?
To living life: paying bills, mostly, and taking care of the kids.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
France!!!!

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Pink's last song about ditching her husband and moving on.  Don't know what it's called.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
About the same.
b) thinner or fatter?
Ooo, fatter, ouch!
c) richer or poorer?
That's a wash.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Going out with friends.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Eating junk food.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
In San Antonio, with family.

21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
I'm always in love!  ;-)  With my husband.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
Dexter!!!!

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Aside from the a**holes at AIG and others, no.

24. What was the best book you read?
I read a lot of really good books.  The last really good one was The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Citizen Cope.

26. What did you want and get?
Five weeks in Paris, and a stand mixer.

27. What did you want and not get?
To move to Paris permanently.

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Ironman.  Robert Downey Jr. is still hot!

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Not much, because the trip to Paris sucked up so much of our money.  And I'm not answering how old I am because it depresses me.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Lack of financial stress.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Same as always: simple and cute.

32. What kept you sane?
My family.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
It's a tossup between the guy who plays Patrick Jane on "The Mentalist, " or David Duchovny in "Californication."

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
The war in Iraq.  And abortion.

35. Who did you miss?
I always miss the gang from high school.  You know who you are.

36. Who was the best new person you met?
My friend LaTisha!
