Yesterday I went to Target to stock up on some things. I got myself some much-needed socks and my kids got socks and underwear. But I had made a terrible mistake.
"Mom!" my son said. "I don't like the underwear you got me!"
"Why not?" I asked. "Are they the wrong size?"
"No," he said impatiently. "They're tighty-whiteys. I don't wear tighty-whiteys anymore. I need some boxers!"
"Oh!" I said, a little non-plussed, and trying not to let on that I was thoroughly amused. "What's wrong with tighty-whiteys?"
"Mom! They're...embarrassing!"
Okay, I guess I see his point. He does have a couple of pairs of holey jeans that you can see right through to his underwear, which is apparently okay if the underwear are boxers but it's not okay if they're BVD's.
Kids these days.
