Chickens on politics

Oh, this November election is turning out to be a whole lot of fun, isn't it? Black messiah on the one hand and geriatric white guy on the other. Who to vote for? Actually, I've been leaning towards Obama for a while now (and no, I don't think he can walk on water). I used to be a McCain fan, especially towards the end of Clinton. However, he's ( Read more... )

was McCain's choice of Palin for VP. Why would I dislike a young woman as VP? Let's count: McCain is old, she's got a shot at the presidency just from him dying of natural causes, cause being the president is super stressful.Oh.. good reason there ( ... )

Yeah, I really don't like how evangelicals have hijacked the Republicans, cause they don't really even seem Christian to me. Compare just one of them to Jesus and see how it stacks up, hmm? But about the teenage pregnancy, I'm pro-choice, but I'd much rather the mom keep the baby. I'm pro-choice because I think pro-life'ers have a misguided belief that if it's illegal, it's not going to happen. This has been proven false time and time again. I really think the pro-life'ers are attacking the problem all wrong. If they want to stop abortion, support pregnancies! Give love and not shame to unwed mothers! Help with child support and adoption when necessary! Make it so abortion sounds like a wacko solution when so many appealing options are available... but I never hear that from them ( ... )

*nods* I tend to lean pro-life, only because the selfish abortions I've heard about are of women who weren't careful and let it happen. Of course, if the abortion was for reasons of health or rape, or the unborn child is going to be seriously handicapped in some way, then I have no problem of letting them have the choce to end it. But after having a child that I hadn't planned for, I can see why so many would rather abort... cause being laid up for 9 months with diet and work restrictions when one least wants to deal with it is the suck. But I managed.

If they want to stop abortion, support pregnancies! Give love and not shame to unwed mothers!*nods* I can't agrue with that. i think that's the hardest thing about having to be pregnant, is how handicapped it makes the women feel. If people at work or at school, and the doctors and the family of that mother-to-be gave her more attention and respect, those 9 months wouldn't be so bad ( ... )
