Chickens on politics

Oh, this November election is turning out to be a whole lot of fun, isn't it? Black messiah on the one hand and geriatric white guy on the other. Who to vote for? Actually, I've been leaning towards Obama for a while now (and no, I don't think he can walk on water). I used to be a McCain fan, especially towards the end of Clinton. However, he's become too much of a Republican puppet now, and I just can't stand a third Bush term. I'm tired of the lying, the way Bush has abused the presidential powers, the Iraq war and the lack of funding for it (seriously, tax cuts in a time of war?? we are in massive debt now!) and fiscal irresponsibility to name a few. Oh, Katrina, my grandmother died from that - don't get me started.

So like I said, I'm leaning towards Obama. Unfortunately, it's more of the 'lesser of two evils' type of approach. He may restore our budget, but then he may also increase the size of the government. :P Definately not a true believer. But what really sealed the deal with him was McCain's choice of Palin for VP. Why would I dislike a young woman as VP? Let's count: McCain is old, she's got a shot at the presidency just from him dying of natural causes, cause being the president is super stressful. Why's this bad? She has relatively no experience. McCain's big argument of Obama's lack of experience is shot down with her on the ticket. She's got a child with down's syndrome and another child... expecting a child! Granted, she says the daughter will be marrying her boyfriend, but is this out of parental pressure? And is it truly fair to either of her children to be accepting this nomination? AND the poor daughter will be under the spotlight! I don't care how McCain and Obama asked to keep the kids out of it, the tabloids will run with it. Another issue, she's a die-hard Christian who believes in abstenance education and Creationism taught along side evolution in schools. Why is this bad? Very close minded approach for the sex education - especially with her daughter's situation, and I highly doubt she's willing to teach ALL varieties of religious creationism. Christianity isn't the only religion on this planet, and until it is, either allow all religions in school or none.

I welcome discussion on this, however, flames will be used to roast marshmallows.
