[The chocolate frog wrapper poking out of her pocket is the only hint that it was getting to her.]
[But if she could keep her composure during those times those foul beast's presence reminded her of, she could keep her composure now. Still, any sort of means to banish these feelings, the better in her opinion. Especially if they might get in. She certainly didn't want to encounter them and be defenseless. Not against creatures like those.]
[So she was already pulling out her wand to try her hand at the charm.]

[He's watching Akako closely though, as he's curious how a real witch from a different world will handle a spell like this.]

[Besides, it was a chance to actually show off in front of him. This was where she naturally excels and cares about excelling and surely something will impress him at some point. To maybe make a look of wonder actually appear on his face, how many people could say they could do that? And it was totally a legitimate way to work on making him hers so he could be her slave. Totally just that reason.]
[She focused on that type of feeling and made the motions.] Expecto Patronum!
[...the words had been said exactly, the wand movements mimicking their teacher's perfectly. On a purely technical aspect, the casting had been absolutely perfect.]
[But the joy was nowhere strong enough and whatever little wisp of something the spell had made could so easily be missed with just blinking at the right moment.]

Guess you need a happier thought.
[He will give her an encouraging push in that direction though, have a randomly appearing rose]

Happy memory that brings joy...? Do I have something like that..? He can't be sure if he remembers anything particularly joyful. Being one who always does what he's expected to do to the best, such feeling is foreign to him. He enjoys being able to accomplish something but joy...? He shuffles through his memories and try to settle on one that he thinks resemble joy before trying his hand at the charm.]

Be sure it is an important memory, not only a joyful one. You have you place all your concentration into it.

With that memory firmly in mind, he attempts the spell for the first time.] Expecto patronum!
[Perhaps his spell sensed his regret and reacted accordingly. There is no sign of a corporeal Patronus, instead silvery mist hovers at the tip of his wand...]

[ that much was obvious. ]

And if this boy is unable to even stay focused while the dementors are at bay...
There would be no hope for him if they should come. ]
Do you find the subject matter so dull that you feel the need to sleep, ser? I will have you attempt the spell.

However, it does not stop him from grinding his teeth. ]
Adequate. However, I am certain that you can do better, can you not?
[ It was not a question, but rather an order to try it once again. ]

He taps his wand against his palm as he tries to find a happy memory to use.]

Certainly he has them, he just can't seem to find them in the hour that he needs them most, and finds himself glancing over at Russia with a small frown, wondering if perhaps it's a nation problem rather than his own.]

It takes a while to sift through centuries of memories and he rubs at his temples.]

Did you allow your mind to wander, girl?
[ He offers no words of encouragment, but he keeps his gaze focused on her. At the very least, she would have to produce even a faint shield. ]

I was distracted.
[All this said in a matter of fact way (and with a disappointed look in her face) to Professor Baratheon. Sighing, she waves her wand at the random spot some more.]
Forgive me, sir. I won't let my mind wander anymore, not when I have to face my enemies head-on.

[ As she casts the spell once more, he observes her in silence. ]
