[Something about this week was giving Danny a bad feeling. Maybe it was all the recent disappearances. Or maybe it was the fact that nothing had happened for a while. Whatever the cause, his restlessness had driven him to patrol today for much longer than usual.

Which would be why he was in the perfect position to spot a familiar little boy lying inside a trashcan.

Almost as soon as he spots Luke, Danny races down towards the ground and lifts him out of the pile of rubbish. He leans the boy up against a wall and shakes his shoulder.

Yeah. We are. But I need to check something first. Because you're sounding an awful lot like you've been overshadowed.

It means that you're acting wrong. So I'm going to reach inside you and check to see if there's a ghost making you act this way. Don't worry, you won't feel a thing.

W-what? No--you...there's not...there's no ghost in me! You don't have to...no. Do not do that! Do not reach inside me!

[Even though his body had been rather difficult, even his rational self wasn't particularly fond of being 'reached inside of'. It was the first time his thoughts and his words and actions had been in alignment, and he couldn't help but appreciate the moment, however brief it was.]

[Just a normal day in the neighborhood hospital until the young doctor sees Danny struggling with, well, a struggling Luke.]

Excuse me, may I help you?

[His eyes were defensive and a bit stern, saying "What are you doing to Luke?]

[Danny sighs in relief at the sight of someone else. Ignoring the fact that this is the first time he's walked around the hospital this obviously in his ghost form, he looks a the new arrival with a slightly pleading expression on his face.]

Please tell me you're one of the doctors here. The kid's hurt. I found him in a trashcan. And there's something wrong in his head.

[Luke wasn't sure if he was approving of Cube's look, but only because his mind was grateful for Phantom's help, regardless of how his body was feeling about it. Now that they were on the ground again, Luke was back to as much wriggling as he could possibly muster.]

[Maybe his appearance would help Phantom's case. His head was bleeding like only a head wound can, and despite his constant struggling against Phantom, he probably looked as dizzy as he was starting to feel. He was feeling nauseous--though if that was because of the blood or because of the hit to the head he couldn't know. Of course, on top of all this his head was absolutely throbbing. The same bite marks like the last time he'd been brought to the hospital were on his neck, as well, and he had a few scratches on his face from Tatsumi pressing him against the wall. He rubbed his eyes at the brightness of the lights, and pulled hard from Phantom's grip.]

Let me go! I don't need to see a doctor. I need to leave! [He looked at Cube, frustrated.] Make him let me go!

Ah...

[Hearing Luke's plea then what Danny was stating... it was hard to really determine what was going on but the sight of blood along the young boy's head was alarming. The small details all started to become very apparent to Cube and he stepped forward, worried.]

I'm not quite a doctor but I do my best. I'm sorry, Luke. I'd like to see your injuries before releasing you from the hospital, alright?

[His voice was concerned and soft. Luke's tantrum brought an uneasiness to the demon as well and he waved Danny to bring Luke into the closest room.]
