[Kanda is presently occupying one of the neutral sitting rooms, on one of the couches. His his lap is a wododen box, old and weathered with some vines sticking too it and the hinges and clasp rusted over.  It's roughly jewelry box sized

(He usually doesn't disturb other people, but this is the first time he's seen a Japanese person.)

The lid is stuck?

Apparently. [Grunts, hands slipping and nearly dropping the box. Frowns]

If it's too stubborn to open, maybe a vacuum occurred. A knife or something that can poke a hole into it might help.

[Sounds like more work that just this to him. Adjusts its position, picking at the rust on the latch]

[Stupid Kanda! Timcampy has no interest in you whatsoever! And he'd leave, but there's a box. A box that Kanda's paying attention to. So he's suddenly very interested in said box.]

[That's okay, Kanda doesn't really have any interest in Tim, either. He only spares him a glance and looks to see if any Allens followed along. Given none have, he'll be back to occupying himself with opening this here box]

[He's coming closer, he wants that box! Or he wants what's inside, whichever he gets ahold of first.]

[Kanda has no intention of letting this box go yet. Keeps struggling with it.

... Eventually looks back up at Tim] What?

[Crosses his arms over the back of the couch to peer over at what Kanda is doing]

[Pickpickpick at the rust. Blinks. Tilts his head back to look at him]

[Points to the box]

Don't know. [Looks back to it] It was out in the courtyard.

[She's just going to stand there and watch him wrestle with the box for a minute.] ...having issues?

I can get it. [He just might need to go get something to open it with]

...If you're sure. [She doesn't sound sure but she doesn't offer to help either. He's a Kanda. He'll ask if he needs help. Or not. She goes back to watching silently.]

[Hums. He'll just start fiddling with the clasp, attempting to break it free despite the rust.
