So, how's Allenpire adjusting to the whole human thing so far?

Allen thought that he missed it more honestly, but when he's faced with the loss of being able to hear, see, feel, move like he was used to... It doesn't hold so much joy as he thought it would, he feels way too vulnerable to go very far from those he knows he can absolutely trust. So he's always with heartsbook, selfdeluded, besomeothername, shelikestotease, or historyandblood. Then there's that whole thing with eating, god he hates eating solid foods even more than he did as a vampire. His stomach is unused to solids, not processing them like they should, and the size of his stomach is small. While he loves eating it he still hates so very much having to throw it up because it won't sit, leaving him to think that maybe he should have eaten more solids as a vampire ( ... )

What does Mana think of all these young men who seem to recognize him from somewhere and have the same name as his dog? Does he still think of the DR as some bizarre dream?

Is meeting Leverrier going to have any lasting effects on little Lena? I know she was freaked right out immediately after the fact, but what about long-term issues?

Chapter 71!Lenalee: due to her pull point, she was all set for a suicide attack. So what does she think of Lenalees with canon points clearly ahead of her (if she's met more besides than this one)? Does she hold onto the hope that this means she may yet survive, or push aside the possibility, citing the chance that different worlds = different outcomes?

Mana doesn't think of it as a dream any more, but he's still not treating it exactly as reality. If that makes any sense at all. He's been here long enough that he can't treat it as a dream and does think of it as something like the real world ( ... )

So, how has Lenalee changed from when she first arrived to now? How much?

fallforthe_sky April 3 2011, 06:46:17 UTC
She's exhausted all the time. No, really. When she first arrived at the DR in October, she'd been pulled from shortly before the Alma arc. Things looked okay-- not good, but okay-- at home and she still had things to smile about. Since then, she's met Noah versions of just about anyone she could think of, which in an of itself is an incredibly taxing situation, discovered the agonies of different worlds and the stress they put on relationships, suffered at the whims of a ~Sentient Building~, etc., etc. Then she got sent home and updated to 202; lost pretty much everything, you know? And coming back to the Dressing Room right after that... she's pretty much drained ( ... )

Considering Lenalee's long life span and similar circumstances, is she not really bothered by the fact that most of the people she knew in the DR are now gone?

brokethestrings April 2 2011, 03:34:58 UTC
She is very bothered by it, actually. Her immortality and her hobo-esque lifestyle are both things that she never wanted, even though she's grown accustomed to them, not to mention Lenalee wanted to live and die with her friends, not outlive them. It's given her a sense of guilt, in a way, along the lines of 'why am I still here? I don't want to be here without them, but maybe it serves me right because of what I did.' It doesn't help that she watched her friends leave, either on their own volition or by her own hands. It was and is heartbreaking for her! So while seeing her friends here is a huge relief and a wonderful thing, Lenalee's still bothered by all these thoughts and feelings, even though she tries not to show it. The same can be somewhat said for the Noah - in one way, it's very troubling that they're not gone anymore, but in another, it brings back a reminder to how life was. In that way it's troubling, but relieving. Did that answer your question? I'm rusty at my essaying ( ... )

Very much so. I was just wondering if she had become numbed to that kind of loss since it happened to her so often.

It's kind of a madhouse. And a bad kind of madhouse. I like to imagine it as a room with a window that you can only see through from one side. Most of the time, Lavi is in the room doing whatever it is Lavi does, and the Apprentice is on the outside watching. On rare occasions, they'll speak to each other though it doesn't usually go over well. And on even rarer occasions, the Apprentice will toss Lavi out of the room so he can steer for a while.

For the moment, they've developed a kind of unspoken truce where Lavi has control most of the time, and the Apprentice researches on how to get them home. Though it's doubtful that truce can last for very long.

I guess one good thing is that Lavi knows that mentally he's a mess. And admitting a problem is the first step to getting better... right? 8|a

Ahah, well I've always been sadistically attracted to the idea of characters I like being broken/driven crazy by something, and medical experimentation is a damn big trauma thing.

And since the Order seems to do a terrible lot of experimenting, I just thought it'd be... bawww.

Designated angst muse...
