Considering Lenalee's long life span and similar circumstances, is she not really bothered by the fact that most of the people she knew in the DR are now gone?

She is very bothered by it, actually. Her immortality and her hobo-esque lifestyle are both things that she never wanted, even though she's grown accustomed to them, not to mention Lenalee wanted to live and die with her friends, not outlive them. It's given her a sense of guilt, in a way, along the lines of 'why am I still here? I don't want to be here without them, but maybe it serves me right because of what I did.' It doesn't help that she watched her friends leave, either on their own volition or by her own hands. It was and is heartbreaking for her! So while seeing her friends here is a huge relief and a wonderful thing, Lenalee's still bothered by all these thoughts and feelings, even though she tries not to show it. The same can be somewhat said for the Noah - in one way, it's very troubling that they're not gone anymore, but in another, it brings back a reminder to how life was. In that way it's troubling, but relieving. Did that answer your question? I'm rusty at my essaying ( ... )

Very much so. I was just wondering if she had become numbed to that kind of loss since it happened to her so often.

It's kind of a madhouse. And a bad kind of madhouse. I like to imagine it as a room with a window that you can only see through from one side. Most of the time, Lavi is in the room doing whatever it is Lavi does, and the Apprentice is on the outside watching. On rare occasions, they'll speak to each other though it doesn't usually go over well. And on even rarer occasions, the Apprentice will toss Lavi out of the room so he can steer for a while.

For the moment, they've developed a kind of unspoken truce where Lavi has control most of the time, and the Apprentice researches on how to get them home. Though it's doubtful that truce can last for very long.

I guess one good thing is that Lavi knows that mentally he's a mess. And admitting a problem is the first step to getting better... right? 8|a

OH I see now. No, she is not numbed to it. If anything, she's more vulnerable to it. Kind of like one of those buttons you don't push.

Yep. Now there are only eleven steps to go~

Hmm...how do Apprentice and Lavi banter/bicker most of the time?

How did perennial!Lenalee feel about meeting inreto child!Lenalee in those circumstances?

She would have liked to meet her where Leverrier wasn't hovering above their heads, of course. Seeing her younger self in that state was incredibly unnerving, as it caused her to really remember all the feelings and fear that she had when she was younger, and that's something she would have liked to not go about again. It also angered her, in a way. Like, 'isn't there anywhere that we can just be in peace? Can't we live without fear for once?' D - did that answer your question?

How does Alma feel about meeting the DR's plethora of Kandas? And what is child!Lenalee's status as of late, after the whole Leverrier rundown?

Most of the Kandas my Alma's met so far are ones she ran into before she found out about Kanda's real identity, which does make a bit of a difference. But she knows the DR is chock full of Kandas, and she finds the idea quite amusing. Especially all the strange AU versions. She'd rather like to meet them all. The elephant!Kanda she met was a little too odd even for her, though.

Lenalee...hmm. I suppose she's been going back to her usual daily life in the DR, but she'd be warier than before. Even so, the people who talked to her after she got spooked by seeing Lvellie really helped her a lot. She's in a better frame of mind for dealing with seeing people she doesn't want to - basically a less helpless mindset, because hey, running away's worked for her one time now. She'd still be terrified if she saw anything of Lvellie/Central/Crow members, and she's watching carefully for any signs of things changing with the Exorcists.

Have you got any particular plans for what you want to do with brokethestrings?

I have no specific plans, but I do have several goals I hope to fulfill. Get him enough CR, for one, and establish a few concrete relationships. Chip a bit off the barrier he's managed to build up, for another. Last but not least, possibly break some more of the hold Cyril still holds over him. So, no big plans! Just a bunch of tiny goals. :)

Has Cyril changed much in the duration of time he's been in the DR?

not_the_spirit April 3 2011, 02:10:31 UTC
:) It is really nice to have Tokusa in the DR. So little page time in the manga, but so much awesomeness packed into that.

Cyril...probably hasn't changed all that much. Being in the DR probably made him a bit lazy and bored/frustrated some of the time, but that's beginning to change, and he's trying to think of creative ways to make his time in the DR useful.

How does Lenalee view herself compared to the younger generation? Herself or other Exorcists in general.

Reply

brokethestrings April 2 2011, 14:09:35 UTC
Lenalee feels a bit like a mother or an advisor to those younger than her because, well, she's a survivor! She knows what they've been through, she knows how most of them feel, and she knows how it ends in her world. So of course she views herself as a sort of advisor because she can tell them how the war ended with her, but she also feels motherly in the sense that she doesn't want the same happening to them. That is, she wants the Order to win! But she doesn't want the price that came with it to weigh on the younger generation. She also feels more distant, in a sense? It's sort of a like a soldier coming home from the battlefield to the people that she loves, yet they can't quite understand how and what she feels (of course, this analogy doesn't quite fit, but you get the picture, yes?).

What is Leverrier's impression of the DR so far (I - I can't spell his name, orz)?

It makes sense. I do adore that Lenalee. Does she plan on gathering the Exorcists (not the Order) into some semblance of structure or is it more of 'help where one can'?

Haha. That's fine. That's why I refer to him as canon!Hitler. I can spell that. His impression? He thinks it is a Noah trick at this point. As if the Noah have encapsulated the entire building into some alternate state that they have to find out. He's angered at the lackluster 'go get 'em' attitude of the Exorcists. Finds the fact the Earl is right next door is appalling. But he still treats it like a war going on. He probably always will unless something drastic happens.

Help where one can! Partially because she also realizes that the DR is too chaotic for anyone to organize, but mainly because she has no interest in that sort of thing.

Ah, denial. It is sweet.

So, Solo. I just recently heard that CV!Miranda killed you. Why was this so?

Reply

solo_insanity April 3 2011, 02:52:44 UTC
Oh. That. Well, Miranda might of mentioned something about being a traitor. This could have had potential to anger Tyki enough to get in a shouting match. Things do happen, you know, and it escalating into a punching match. Which escalated into death threats. And Miranda might have turned into Joyd, controlled Joyd, then snapped Tyki's neck when he thought Joyd was an ally in the whole business.

Just, you know, a hypothesis.
