There was dust here, layers of dirt coating the unused furniture, but some time ago, the dust melted away. The couches began to look new again. The kitchen cupboards replenished themselves and the plothole in the closet began spinning once more ( Read more... )

Dies is taking his place in the kitchen, rooting around the cupboards to see what happens to be there. So far he's retrieving ingredients for s'mores, but he has yet to find appropriate chocolate for them. He'd appreciate the help in looking as well as consuming.

It was likely somewhat inevitable that Joffy would end up heading for the kitchen, still holding City. Before she can say anything to Dies, though, City's babbling will double in both volume and speed and Joffy doubts she'll have to say anything herself to get Dies' attention.

Dies immediately turns, his face lighting up (yes, even more than usual) as he makes a beeline for said babbling baby. "City! My dearest darlingest most precious little baby niece-creature! Oh, hi Joffy, I guess you're here too." He won't quite snatch City out of Joffy's arms, but he will patiently hold his own out for her, because let's face it, is he really expected to be able to resist small cute things?

She laughs and hands City over, because who can resist a Dies that cheerful? "I feel appreciated."

Leo's choosing to view the change in environment as an opportunity -- primarily to get some work sorted out and hope that it inspires him to actually complete said paperwork. So he's seated at a table, his briefcase open in front of him, an enormous assortment of lesson plans strewn out all around him.

Mandy is between bouts of being busy, so taking a walk seems like the best way to get out of her office and into the world. She wasn't heading anywhere in particular and that may well be why she ended up here, in a place she hasn't seen in quite a long time. She tugs open the door, but doesn't enter right away. "Hello?" she calls out cautiously.

Ky has, in recent years, taken up art; he's not extremely good at it, and he doesn't intend for it to be anything but a very casual hobby, but he likes it as a form of expression and stress relief. So he's coopted a large portion of the room with a sizable canvas, and several palettes set on either side of it, stretched out on his stomach and swirling some colors together at the bottom left corner of said canvas. Said painting does not look like anything just yet, but... well, we'll see where the hell he decides to take it.

The minute Rain sees Ky, she sort of -- slides in next to him, on her stomach, chin resting on her arms. "What'cha doing?" Without allowing him to answer, she pulls up her t-shirt to reveal her stomach (probably nearly flashing him in the process, though we're sure neither of them find this unusual)-- "You should paint me instead!"

Completely accustomed to both Rain interrupting him without much notice and her exposing herself to him, to some degree, Ky just rolls over onto his side in order to grin at her. "Not gonna turn down an offer like that. This is clearly a canvas upgrade!" He promptly doodles a scribble just under Rain's navel, in a shade of reddish-purple. "Yeah, this is definitely an improvement."

Rain cranes her neck to see what he's done, then grins. "Aww, it looks like a rabbit. A rabbit in the sunset, perhaps? This is kind of like lying on the grass looking up at the clouds and trying to figure out what they resemble -- but sexier clouds." She waggles her eyebrows at him a bit.

Seraphina is being her usual terribly classy self, sitting at the kitchen table with a bottle of wine in front of her, opened and poured into a glass which she's currently twirling between her fingers. She is fully capable of drinking the entire bottle herself -- with very few consequences -- but really, she'd prefer not to, and so would welcome company to help her take it down.

Who better than her husband, who has managed to even more fully embody the 'absentminded professor' stereotype with the passing of time? He wanders in, distracted entirely by studying his surroundings and noting what has changed about them and what hasn't. Still-- Anton can practically sense Sera, and so he turns suddenly and smiles at her.

"Oh, hello," he says, as if he's just discovered the secret to life, the universe and everything rather than the woman he sees every day sitting at a table. "May I join you?"

"Most definitely not," Seraphina replies firmly, her tone belied by the broad smile lighting her face the minute she sees Anton. "I'm waiting for my husband, and I think he'd be terribly jealous if he saw me with someone as cute as you."

"Oh, how unfortunate," Anton says mildly. "I'm sure your husband is a very lucky man, though." He cocks his head to one side a bit, still smiling. "You wouldn't consider just giving me one chance? I can be charming. I think."
