There was dust here, layers of dirt coating the unused furniture, but some time ago, the dust melted away. The couches began to look new again. The kitchen cupboards replenished themselves and the plothole in the closet began spinning once more

Dies is taking his place in the kitchen, rooting around the cupboards to see what happens to be there. So far he's retrieving ingredients for s'mores, but he has yet to find appropriate chocolate for them. He'd appreciate the help in looking as well as consuming.

It was likely somewhat inevitable that Joffy would end up heading for the kitchen, still holding City. Before she can say anything to Dies, though, City's babbling will double in both volume and speed and Joffy doubts she'll have to say anything herself to get Dies' attention.

Dies immediately turns, his face lighting up (yes, even more than usual) as he makes a beeline for said babbling baby. "City! My dearest darlingest most precious little baby niece-creature! Oh, hi Joffy, I guess you're here too." He won't quite snatch City out of Joffy's arms, but he will patiently hold his own out for her, because let's face it, is he really expected to be able to resist small cute things?

She laughs and hands City over, because who can resist a Dies that cheerful? "I feel appreciated."

"Hi, sweetie, hi, you are looking more and more precious every single time I see you with your cute little face, yes you are, look at you, I am going to take good care of you and teach you everything you need to know and you will have awesome taste like me and like your daddy, because he picked the best lady in the world to be your mommy, so there!"

All said more or less in one breath, followed by a triumphant grin at Joffy. "See? I appreciate you."

"I remain unconvinced that you appreciate anything other than my ability to produce the best baby in the world." She probably doesn't mind that, though, not really.

"Maybe a little bit." He waltzes City over to Joffy so that he can properly kiss the top of her head, beaming at her before mirroring the gesture to City. "But mostly because only someone so awesome could produce the best baby in the world."

[notthegayone]

"That's better," she says and makes a face at the two of them, which is clearly a cue for City to blow another spit bubble and then laugh.

He beams, rubbing his nose to City's and cuddling her closer before turning his beam to Joffy. "How's things? How's Rhad? When do I get another niece, huh?"

"Things are good -- I've got a fireworks order I'm working on now, which is always so much better than demolition work. Rhad's amazing, as always, and I have no idea when you're getting another niece. Felicity's enough work as it is and really, how could we do any better than her?"

"I'd definitely agree -- pretty sparkly things are way better than blowing stuff up." He wrinkles his nose a bit, then, but nods in agreement. "I guess that's a fair point. She is pretty perfect."

"Oh, blowing stuff up is the fun part of everything, but one does what one must." She leans in to rub her nose against City's. "She's the most perfect little baby in the whole world, I think you'll find."

She almost always ends up where Dies is and today is no exception, as Omnia materializes onto the counter in front of him. She pokes his shoulder with one finger. "Hi."

"Hi, Omnia," Dies replies brightly, as always reserving the brightest of smiles for his sister. "Do you want a s'more?" He knows the answer to this, but he can't help asking anyway.

She raises both eyebrows at him and that should be enough of an answer for her to change the subject with a clear conscience. "Other than eating disgusting food, how have you been?"

"Oh, excellent," he says cheerfully, abandoning one cupboard and moving onto the next. "Life's great. You have a niece-in-law now, you know, and she's the precious-est thing I've ever seen in my life." He definitely said this about Ben when he was born, and is likely to say the same thing about Joaquin next year, too.
