The smell of cigarette smoke precedes him, if not by much. Likely, whoever may be in the room is just starting to perk up, sniffing at the air and wondering where that's coming from, when he steps in, lowering the cigarette in question from his lips with two fingers, checking the clearly heavy and expensive wristwatch on his other arm as he does so ( Read more... )

"Bitch, please." If his brother's voice is somehow unfamiliar, then there is obviously something wrong. Aniketos wouldn't care either way, however, and so his arm would still be found slung around the newcomer's shoulders as it is now, the purposefully sloppy kiss still placed on a cheek by way of greeting. He is, after all, as the broad, charming grin would show, most definitely his parents' son. "Nobody in their right mind would ever miss you."

Not even Alexandros can help the faint, crooked grin, his own arm sliding around Aniketos's waist with a gentle squeeze of greeting. "No," he allows, trying to sound suitably haughty and imperious (generally, Ketos brings out something of the opposite in him), "I merely happened to be curious."

"I suppose it's better not to give in to the pessimism," he concedes. The statement is then followed by a "serious" face and a bit of tugging at the stained t-shirt. "Might be easier for people to at least pretend to miss you if you didn't half-ass so much." Which is obviously nothing but teasing when you take a look at Ketos's wife-beater, ratty blue-jeans and bare feet.

"I learned it from my wayward siblings." There's another slight smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, though, as he studies his brother briefly. "At least I've attempted a degree of professionalism. I really should disown you."

That absolute beam is the one reserved strictly for family, because siblings of any fraction happen to be some of the best things around, if you ask him. "Alexandros! You're finally here! We totally missed you and stuff." Yes, yes, you know which emoticon is not being used to properly convey this expression.

All right, so Dies gets something of a grin, too, because that can't be resisted either, and he does look genuinely pleased to see him. "What a pleasant surprise. Finally, your lives can resume. Sexually frustrated people around the world will be given relief."

"I know, right? It's been pretty much agony for everyone. I hope you know it's all on you." And okay, Alexandros, prepare for Diestackling, because obviously one comment is the longest he can wait before family gets hugged. "But it is totally awesome to see you, I mean it!"

There's a muffled "oof" of surprise, as he was sort of expecting that but wasn't sure when he might need to brace himself. "You always mean it," he observes, hugging him obligingly. That might be either mocking, affectionate, or affectionately mocking.

Anosia gives him a brief, unimpressed once-over; they've probably met before, knowing the family, but there aren't many people that she actually pays attention to or keeps track of (or finds worthy enough to keep track of). "Should we have?" She asks, quirking an eyebrow.

"Absolutely," he all but drawls, arching a curious eyebrow at her in return, both expression and stance automatically just a bit more guarded than before. "They call me the life of the party."

It's not that she really dislikes any of her relations. It's mainly that she's ambivalent towards them, but naturally a bitch. "Really." The tone of her voice is flat, but her eyes are amused. "Unfortunately, I don't believe I'm part of whatever group you're calling 'they'."

"Well, that would be your loss, then, wouldn't it?" He's got another faint smile playing over his lips, nothing too overtly amused. "I'm nothing short of a bundle of fun."

"Halt," Ky intones solemnly, holding a hand out in the traditionally accepted "stop" gesture. "As long as you don't come any closer -- and I mean it, not even a millimeter -- I can be happy to see you." Not that he's expecting him to listen, hence that faint resignation creeping in around the mock-stern face, but he figures it's worth a try.

It may as well be some kind of genetically-programmed quirk: already, Alexandro's little smile is starting to curve into something dangerously close to a smirk, though he will obey for now and refrain from moving. "So cruel already."

"Not cruel! I just know you." This might be something approaching a pout. "So I'm acting on the offensive for once. But hi anyway."

That makes him laugh quietly, though it turns into a smirk again before too long. "I haven't done anything yet, Ky," he protests calmly enough. "You wound me."

There's apparently something interesting about Alexandros that draws Ciaran in, because there he is (there he's been for a while?) observing his entrance. "I wouldn't be able to say," he responds, a faintly polite smile on his face, "though I'm sure that if I had known you before this minute, I might have."

Alexandros allows himself a moment of silence merely to look Ciaran over thoughtfully, one eyebrow just barely arched, before mirroring that faint smile and taking a half-step closer. "I assure you, I'm fascinating. Your life until this moment has been nothing compared to what it will be now that you've met me."

"That interesting, are you? I suppose I have no choice now but to get to know you better." He offers a hand. "Ciaran Pendergast."

"No choice at all," he agrees, almost a murmur, before taking Ciaran's hand and shaking it firmly, perhaps holding on for a split-second too long. "Alexandros. I'm pleased to meet you."
