The smell of cigarette smoke precedes him, if not by much. Likely, whoever may be in the room is just starting to perk up, sniffing at the air and wondering where that's coming from, when he steps in, lowering the cigarette in question from his lips with two fingers, checking the clearly heavy and expensive wristwatch on his other arm as he does so ( Read more... )

"You know, I never knew I did until just now," comes the predictably far from charming drawl from where Adrian is sprawled across a couch, grinning rather appreciatively. (Yes, he is now On A Mission to get better sex than certain brothers of his, and he sees a candidate on the horizon. What, did you expect him to be nice to someone?)

The slight smile as he turns a little to properly face Adrian is somewhere indefinite between intrigued and disbelieving. "And now that I have graced you with my presence, at long last you see the light, mm?"

"Absolutely," is the fervent reply with another broad grin. "For so long I was deprived and now my life is finally complete." He may or may not be subtly shifting a little on the couch so as to display himself better.

"I tend to have that effect on people," he says dryly, now studying him with some measure of interest, at least. "I'm so very glad to have completed your life this way."

Well, Alexandros can also have someone who doesn't already know him and will be genuinely happy to meet him despite not wanting into his pants. Which is to say, here, have an over-half-a-foot-shorter-than-he-is half-angel, who's dressed casually if neatly enough; the only signs that she's been poking at her car are the messy way her hair's pulled back and the small but noticeable smudge of grease across her left cheek. Her smile's bright enough, though, and openly friendly. "Obviously. It was utterly empty without you. Of course, I can't say that I really mean that just yet, considering I don't know who you are."

His gaze'll stop briefly at said smudge of grease as he looks her over, obviously vaguely interested, in that case, one eyebrow quirking a little as he does so. "Well, I'll have to remedy that." And he offers her a hand with his politest smile. "Alexandros."

She takes his hand and shakes it, giving him another bright smile (no, she hasn't noticed the grease yet). "Apphia. It's very nice to meet you, Alexandros -- you're new here, I assume?"

"New in most senses of the word." A slight, almost calculated shrug. "A great number of my siblings have been here for much longer, so I doubt I'll find it too different."

"No," she says, not looking up from the (blood red, what else?) polish she's applying to her nails. "I, for one, didn't even notice you were missing."

He hardly misses a beat before shrugging a little. "I wasn't asking you, in that case. Though I should have known you would be here."

"People tend to keep me with them. I'm not really sure why." She turns slightly to face him. "What have you been up to, then?"

"What am I ever up to?" He gives a slight, crooked smile, shrugging a little. "It's a very good thing I was born with divine blood or I would be living in poverty on the streets, for one thing."

He apparently gets a bit of a smile from Dis. "Only because you're weird and things haven't been."

Meaning she earns a slight, rather crooked smile in return. "I doubt I'm any weirder than most of the people here. Have they been neglecting their duties, then?"

"They have," she says solemnly. "It's all very tragic."

"I'm so terribly sorry." He's doing his best to match her tone, which comes relatively easily to him. "What can I do for you?"

She doesn't say anything at first, simply shakes her head slightly as she steps out of the shadows. For the time being, words are less important than eyeing him carefully.

As soon as he notices her properly, he's studying her just as carefully, both wary and curious (he has seen weird shit, but grey people are new to him). "Yes?"

"Not something you see every day, is it?"

"No," he answers easily and honestly enough. "Not at all. Why, have I merely been unobservant?"
