A tall, black haired man with pointed ears and a military uniform steps through the door, and freezes. This is not the bridge. He silently surveys the strange room for a moment, his calm expression not flickering despite the shock and alarm that courses through him until he manages to surpress the automatic emotional response. A hotel, Terran ( Read more... )

And here's a young man, also wearing something that resembles a uniform who looks up from a comic he was reading.

"Nifty gadjet, you got there, sir," he says without standing up. "Guess you're from a place where they know technology, at least. It'll be a nice change."

"Is that uncommon, here?" He studies the young man, noting that he is wearing something like a uniform though it isn't one that Spock has ever seen. If this planet is not Earth, according to the Federation's policy of noninterference he should take care to not show his communicator again, but from the young man's words it is possible that he is also...displaced.

"You'd me surprised. They have those strange "Ceedees" for music, and -- yeah, the kind of communication devices are pretty different, I mean, you have to hold it to you mouth and ear. Not that they work, mind you."

"I see." The music disks sound vaguely familiar in a historic sort of way, but that's just more confusing. He dislikes confusing. "What planet is this?"

The quiet (and sometimes rambunctious) little alien will come striding across the hall, completely undisturbed by the presence of a new person, though he might look up at him curiously.

Those aliens, always particular, are.

Spock nods a little absently but politely at the little alien as he walks across, though he doesn't recognize the species. It would be stranger if he was able to discern with any certainty what planet this is. "Hello," he murmurs politely in Standard, mostly to see if the other will recognize or speak the language.

"Hello," Yoda replies, looking and staring at the Vulcan. "Lost, you are, Young Commander."

He likes to play captain obvious, be patient with him.

"I am," he says, it would be illogical to attempt to conceal the fact under the circumstances. When Yoda replies in what Spock considers Standard and calls him by his rank he assumes that he is still in Federation jurisdiction, which is encouraging for the moment.

"Isn't it?"

Jon Osterman, the blue glowing superbeing more commonly known as Dr. Manhattan, stands just outside the doors in the sunlight, fixing Spock with a look that might be thoughtful if it weren't so stoic. "Every entrance into this plane of reality appears to come as a surprise. Unfortunately, exiting has thus far proven impossible."

Spock might have looked surprised if he wasn't so Vulcan. The man is blue, glowing and (nearly?) naked. He can't think of any sentient species offhand that glow. But there are more important questions, such as what the man means by 'this plane of reality.' "Have we fallen through some sort of spatial or temporal rift, then? I cannot recall anything that could have caused such an event..."

"That appears to be the most likely explanation," he answers; Spock may be one of the few island-dwellers who will appreciate the physics lecture immediately upon arrival, but he has little else he will offer. "All examination leads to the conclusion that it is a self-contained pocket reality. The location is highly unique in that it appears to draw beings from varying universes. Thus far I have not been able to discern any pattern in those who have arrived, but for whatever reason, this reality expands to accomodate them."

It would seem much more unlikely if not for certain recent events. Spock just nods. "Are there any theorys regarding how people arrive here? I was unaware of any anomaly and I did not feel any sort of movement."

Witt is on his way in from the beach when he comes across the new arrival. He stops to greet him, then pauses a little. Well, his mama always said that it's not polite to stare, so he just puts on a bit of a crooked smile.

"You don't even know the half of it."

Spock isn't unused to staring, there aren't exactly a lot of other Vulcans in Starfleet. He doesn't smile in return, just looks back impassively. "Then perhaps you could enlighten me."

"I ain't ever been too good at enlightening. And truth be told, I can't do too well at explaining this. Most I can tell you is we've found ourselves in some hotel."

"That did appear to be the case," Spock says, with what in a human would probably have been dry humor. "Can you tell me where this hotel is?"

Meandering down the hall, her swaggering steps taking her to the lobby, Lisa sucks on a lollipop, musing silently to herself. Only when she sees the face and hesitating movements of a newcomer does she snap out of her revelries and bound over to greet him.

"Well, hellooooooo there," she grins, giving him the once over, "My name is Lisa. Welcome to the Hotel."

"Thank you," he says, slightly offput by her enthusiasm though it doesn't show. "Is there any sort of communication device here that I could use for a moment?"

"Ya mean like a phone?" popping the candy unceremoniously back into her mouth, she talks around it instead, "There's one in the kitchen... and prolly one on the front desk. I didn't look. But there's really no use in trying to call out, cause there's no one to call. They're pretty much for room to room calls."

"I see." He doesn't frown, but his eyebrows draw together slightly. "Then it will not be neccessary after all."
