A tall, black haired man with pointed ears and a military uniform steps through the door, and freezes. This is not the bridge. He silently surveys the strange room for a moment, his calm expression not flickering despite the shock and alarm that courses through him until he manages to surpress the automatic emotional response. A hotel, Terran ( Read more... )

And here's a young man, also wearing something that resembles a uniform who looks up from a comic he was reading.

"Nifty gadjet, you got there, sir," he says without standing up. "Guess you're from a place where they know technology, at least. It'll be a nice change."

"Is that uncommon, here?" He studies the young man, noting that he is wearing something like a uniform though it isn't one that Spock has ever seen. If this planet is not Earth, according to the Federation's policy of noninterference he should take care to not show his communicator again, but from the young man's words it is possible that he is also...displaced.

"You'd me surprised. They have those strange "Ceedees" for music, and -- yeah, the kind of communication devices are pretty different, I mean, you have to hold it to you mouth and ear. Not that they work, mind you."

"I see." The music disks sound vaguely familiar in a historic sort of way, but that's just more confusing. He dislikes confusing. "What planet is this?"

"I actually don't know," he says with a shrug. "We've been unable to contact D.E.- our ship since we arrived, and there aren't any natives. It's not KO-35, I'll tell you that, and it looks like Earth, but it might as well be somewhere else, for all I know."

Spock did not frown, but for a moment his eyebrows drew together just slightly. "No contact has been made with the outside world?" It didn't sound like it, and he didn't recognize the name of the other's planet.

"Not that I know of. I've been trying, and others too. There's a woman who's been putting electronics together and trying to get through, but nothing so far." He shrugs. At least he has Andros around.

"That is unfortunate." If Spock were not Vulcan he would be upset maybe even a little frightened by all this. If he were not Vulcan. As it is he is only mildly disturbed by the complete illogic of the situation Yep. "Have other areas of the planet been explored?"

"No. The island has been explored. We don't have the means to leave it. Or to scan it. It's like being stuck in the 20th century, or something."

"I see. There are no vehicles, here?" And he'd been hoping that perhaps elsewhere he'd have better luck with a communicator, or find a Federation post.

"Ah, those, we have," Zhane replies with a bit of a smug grin. "Not that they're particularly helpful if you try to leave. There's land vehicles only, and the Galaxy Glider won't go far enough to reach some sort of main land, or even give me sight of it.." He pauses, and adds, "I'm Zhane, by the way. From KO-35. You?"

"I am Commander Spock, of --the USS Enterprise." There's an infintesimal pause in there where he almost said Vulcan, but didn't. "I'm afraid I have not heard of a 'Galaxy Glider' before."

"If you've never met a Power Ranger, it's not very surprising. Not that there are any here. Just a glider. Thing. Ehm."

Way to go, Zhane.

"I suppose. I have never heard of a 'Power Ranger' before." Though that could possibly explain the uniform that the young man is wearing.

"Never? Where are you from, then?" Because that means this fellow, as alien as he seems is not from Zhane's world. Aaaaw.

"Most recently," he says carefully, "the USS Enterprise." As he will be living there for the next few years, it is the logical response. No real reason to mention Vulcan, though for most his appearance would be enough for them to come to that conclusion.
