A party!

Sep 20, 2008 23:53

Since his arrival, Doc has come to the conclusion that he is going to be stuck here for some time. He has done his best to contact Voyager, but he accepts that there is little more for him to do now but wait. Waiting, of course, means that he must make the best of the situation. Thankfully, Doc is very good at doing this, especially when there are ( Read more... )

Parties had always made Harvey anxious, but it was something he's learned to grin and bear over the years. Besides, this was the first party in this place that he was aware of - it wouldn't do to not show up.

He heads over to the food table, picking up a little of this and that. He smiles at Scott when he sees him. "This looks fantastic."

"Thank you." Scotty really feels proud. Really proud. He tries not to show it too much, though it undoubtedly comes through. "I'm so glad you could make it! You'll have to tell me what you like best. I'm thinking of starting something around here, maybe like a restaurant type of thing." The nice thing about the hotel is he doesn't have to struggle to get started, though whenever he thinks things like that, he feels strange.

"The chicken is good," Harvey murmurs in between bites. "More then good. Fantastic, even." He grins happily at Scotty. "If we ever get home, I'll look you up the next time I have to do a function."

Eeeeee. Yes that is a girlish happy squee in his head, whatever. No one else can hear. And it isn't like he played with Barbies when he was little, too. "Well, thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying yourself... I think Doc over there might blow a gasket if things don't go well. I'd say that was a literal expression except I don't know if he actually is made of gaskets..."

Pepper is over in the corner, sipping a cup of punch and just taking in the scene and trying not to wonder when/if Tony will appear.

"Careful," Christian grins, sidling up to her. "That's the less exciting punch. The one over there," he points and then hesitates before breaking out into a slow grin, "packs more of a punch." God that was lame, but he blames it on being around Aaron.

"I'll stick with this one for now, but thank you," Pepper says, amused despite herself. "I may have to keep an eye on certain people later."

"What?" He gives her a scandalized look, grooving in place to the music. "Don't tell me you're someone's designated driver. You do know no one's driving home tonight, right?" he teases.

Fiona has made a beeline straight to the dance floor. She'd never yet met a party she didn't like, and by god, she was going to take some time to really properly enjoy herself.

He's at first incredibly disappointed that the first to the dance floor is a girl. Guiltily he remembers the whole monogamous thing and how much he loves Aaron. He needs to do a better job of remembering that sort of thing. Sort of successfully (but not really -- he tells himself that a couple of times a day) reprimanding himself, he glides over to her. "Thank God. I was afraid everyone really would want to go to the boring half of this party."

Fiona grins at him. "Oh, please. If I wanted boring, I would have stayed in my room and listened to Michael lecture me about my morals."

"Oh, that sounds so tempting. I don't know how you could've passed that up." He is incredibly tempted to take his shirt off already, but maybe he'll hold off until things actually get started. "My name's Christian."

"Oooh, a party!" Look, it's Bruce in his best playboy role, heading in and giving a grin to Doc. "Whose idea was this? Whoever it is, I like them. We've been needing a party around here."

Doc straightens up (not that he was slouching) and gives a proud little smile, nodding his head slightly to Bruce. "This was my little brainchild," he replies proudly, grinning over at the rest of the room. "I couldn't agree with you more. There really is nothing like a party to get people into a cheerful mood."

He extends his hand. "I don't think we've met. I'm... ah... I'm Doc." He'll really need to see about getting a name for himself, for this place...

"Bruce Wayne." He gives Doc his best society smile. "And yeah, parties are good for that. They're also good for finding great company and great alcohol."

Oh, alcohol. The human fascination with it is mindboggling and rather annoying, in his opinion. It only makes them act with even less sense. "Well, I hope you find them in spades." The company, at least. "Can I get a picture of you?" He holds up his camera eagerly. It wouldn't be the most exciting of pictures, but the first guest he greets would be a wonderful memory to keep.

Bruce is apparently making the rounds of this party, as any good playboy does. So he heads into the dance room and gives Christian his best charming smile. "This is where all the fun is?"

Christian had taken a moment to breathe, just a quick one, and it turns out he picked the right moment to step away. He gives Bruce a pretty smile, looming a bit closer under the pretense of the music being loud. He's going to have a really hard time remembering Aaron tonight, but -- he swears he will, he really will. He'll just play a little verbally, that's all. "It sure is. Are you looking for some fun?"

"Always." He gives Christian another smile and offers a hand. "I'm Bruce Wayne. I don't think we've met?" And yes, Christian, he's definitely giving you a once-over. Always good to keep the rumors alive, anyway.

"We haven't... I'd remember you." He gives him a once-over back, the old party boy ways hard to forget. "Christian Markelli. So, Bruce. You dance?"
