Livia wanders into the kitchen in search of a bottle of wine and stops dead in her tracks, covering her mouth with one hand to keep from screaming. She's not squeemish but she's never seen anything remotely like this before. For the moment she notices nothing but the blood and the bodies.

Spade looks up from where he's helping. "Christ, Livia. You don't need to be seeing this."

Wide-eyed with horror, her gaze finally comes to rest on him.

"Sam? What... what happened?" she manages to say.

His voice was calm and steady, if not exactly soothing. "We don't know yet. We're going to find out." He holds her eyes, his gaze demanding she look nowhere else. "If you want to help, you could start asking if anyone heard a gunshot recently, or saw anything suspicious. Otherwise, just try to keep a panic from spreading. No use everyone panicking until we know more."

Spade returned to the kitchen, taking out his notebook and writing down all the pertinent observations he made, quickly in shorthand. He then looked around for someone to help him move Alexis' body out of the kitchen, as it would be awkward to do it alone.

"Homicide. Maybe a double, depending on how things go." Spade looked grim but businesslike. "You want to give me a hand getting the stiff out of here? Last thing we need is every person in the Mansion stumbling over this kind of mess."

"Fuck, man. Alright..." He took of his already stained and dirty denim jacket and set it on a mostly clean cabinet in preparation for lifting the body. "You want me to take the feet or the, uh... That big red splash where his head oughta be."

"Um, a huge mess? The guy's head got blown off, basically, and the woman was stabbed repeatedly."

The woman was conscious long enough to give a name, although I don't know how reliable that is -- she's got to be pretty out of it right now, after all. Looks like it probably wasn't a one-off, someone went crazy with a knife thing, though. She was pretty heavily armed, and her throat's marked up like someone put a blade to it.
