Spade returned to the kitchen, taking out his notebook and writing down all the pertinent observations he made, quickly in shorthand. He then looked around for someone to help him move Alexis' body out of the kitchen, as it would be awkward to do it alone.

Have a Sweeney. He's a big guy.

"... Holy shit. What the fuck happened here?"

"Homicide. Maybe a double, depending on how things go." Spade looked grim but businesslike. "You want to give me a hand getting the stiff out of here? Last thing we need is every person in the Mansion stumbling over this kind of mess."

"Fuck, man. Alright..." He took of his already stained and dirty denim jacket and set it on a mostly clean cabinet in preparation for lifting the body. "You want me to take the feet or the, uh... That big red splash where his head oughta be."

"You take the feet. I'm already covered." It was true; Vera's blood had stained his jacket, shirt and tie. He'd considered taking off his jacket, but he wanted to keep his .38 close, for now. "We'll just get him out of the way for now, and we can deal with burying him later, poor bastard."

"What a day, huh?" he said, moving to take the feet. "Come for a cold one, get a fucken corpse instead. Any idea who shot the guy?" He gave Spade a sly look. "Wouldn't happen to be you, would it?"

Spade managed a wry smile in return. "I'm not such a gentlemen to clean up after the ones I shot myself." His look darkens as they lifted Alexis, starting to head out. "Got a suspect. Need to keep investigating though. And Christ knows what I'll do if I catch him, since there's no cops to turn him over to."

"Eh. People've been dealing with murder most foul since the dawn of time, man. Without any help from the fuzz. Eye for an eye and all that shit, you know what I'm saying?" He grunted as his boots nearly lost traction on the bloody floor, but righted himself quickly.

"Oh, sure. It's not the taking care of him that worries me." Spade glanced behind himself, making sure he wasn't going to run into anything. "It's the someone taking care of me afterwards. I don't want a murderer running around, but I'm not much for noble gestures either."

"Could always just feed him to the vamps or something. Keeps your hands clean and the floor, too." He shifted his grip on Alexis' ankles "Shit, you think this guy'd be lighter without his fucken insides," he grumbled.

Dryly, Spade commented, "Weight wasn't centered in his brains, looks like. And sadly, I don't know any vampires personally."

Despite the fact that he was carrying a dead body, Sweeney chortled a bit at that.

"I can hook you up with a bloodsucker, man. Also know an old hangman who wouldn't mind taking him off your hands. Just say the word"

Spade seemed to actually be considering this. "I may look you up, once I've got enough evidence to be sure." They found a deserted-looking room.

"No problem. I'm an easy guy to find. Dump him here, you think?" he asked, nodding at the room.

"'s as good as anyplace, for now." Spade helped him lug Alexis over to put on the bed. "Suppose we should cover him with a sheet or something, so people'll know someone put him here on purpose."

He snorted, "Yeah, 'cause that's gonna make it a helluva lot better for the poor bastard walks in here without a fucken clue. Maybe we oughta leave a note or something."

Body safely on the bed, Sweeney wiped his bloody hands on the front of his white t-shirt and scanned the room for either a sheet or note-making material. He laughed suddenly, almost like a giggle.

"'Could always right it in blood on the sheet. That's a fucken classic."
