COMPLETELY TORN

Oct 30, 2010 09:17

I was sitting one day, reading actually when my mother approached me and I was like 'hey I want to buy this novel that has just come out' and my mother sarcastically replied 'Great, when you're getting married I don't need to buy you things anymore, I'll just bring you all your novels and mangas and just everything you read'. And then I realized ( Read more... )

random things, job changing, confused

Hey Dephi :D
long time no see! You're doing fine I see ^^

I think it's a good idea to do these small jobs as an editor and see if you like it. And if you really really love it much more than your other major you can change. It's not an easy decision of course but not a lot of people have the opportunity to do what they really love so if you can why not do it :)
I'm probably not good at giving advice at these things because I have to decide myself now what to do after school and I still haven't decided XD

Biggy-chaaaaaan ♥

Yeah, I'm still considering. The best decision would be doubling but I don't know. I've done this for almost a month already, a couple of articles, and it's quite fun so far.

Ah, you're graduating soon? That'a great! Oh,r eally? Well, it's hard to decide anyway, but you should believe in yourself. I don't know, based on my experience, it's never wrong to change anyway. Your future lies in this, well sort-of.

Anyway, how are youuu?

Yeah doubling it would be a great idea so at the end you can still decide which one you want to do :) But I hope it's not too much for you then ne!

Yeah I'm in my last year now and it's quiet hectic. School takes up my whole day D: Yeah what you decide on now changes your whole future but it's good to know that if you don't like it you can still change :) But right now I'm quite worried that I won't be accepted into university! But I guess I have to believe in myself that I can do it!

I'm quite fine except that school is a bitch to me :D

Well,t hat's also the problem, but starting this semester my schedule is actually less tighter than it used to be so I think I will be able to manage it somehow. But the catch is, I won't be able to surf or blog as much as I usually do so Idk if I can sacrifice that. Besides, I can't read as many books as I always do so well... It's quite confusing.

Ah, I see.. Well, why? Are you not confident with your grades or are you simply confused with your own choices (or the lack of it?)

Schools are always bitches. They always do. *sigh*

It's great that you've got the freelance opportunity! If you really enjoy doing it, and you're in a position where you can change, then I say go for it! We all change our minds about what we want to be, it's part of being young, but you have to be honest with yourself. Would you regret not taking the opportunity to change in the future? *hugs* give yourself some time, you'll know what to do. :)

Yeah. I was in this book club and one of the members are actually working at this company and when she heard me, she offered a job and that's how it begins. Haha.. I'm completely torn actually because you know, I'm halfway through my dentistry degree and it'll be such a shame if I have to give it up because I don't entirely dislike it. It's just I don't think I've put my heart fully on it. But it's quite enjoyable actually. I have a lot to think, I guess.

But anyhow, hi Laura! How are you? It's been long, isn't it?

Bb, why do something you don't want when you can do something you want? ♥ I say drop dentistry and go for literature before it's too late.

Yes! I'd love that! But I can't imagine what my mom will do when I do that! ♥

Besides, I've been working really hard at dentistry all these time and I don't know if I can just throw it away like that or not o.O

I'm really beginning to think that we are really somehow long lost twins XDD Because I'm in the same exact position as you. Only difference is that I'm majoring in Hospitality (hotel management). And that instead of editor, I want to be a writer.

Okay, let's mourn together....

Nah... let's not get frustrated and give up hope. I'm sure there will be someway for us, don't know what but I'm sure there is...

Ganbatte!!

What if we take literature together then? I think both editing and writing require that right? Then we make our own publishing company, you'll be the writer and I'll edit. lol :D
I'd love to do that though. I've been thinking a lot about it lately.
Yay for twins ♥

Yes! I'm now working on it. Idk, I might consider doubling or something along the line...

Actually ne, I really want to take eng Lit. And write a book in eng, but the prospect of having an eng novel published in Indo is so.... But that's a very nice plan and yeah, I would love to do that too.. sigh...

that's good^^ just take a step at a time, if you are sure you can double the line then why not^^

Ah, I understand that actually! I'm not that fond of Indonesian novel myself. The only author I read is Sitta Karina, and even then I don't read all her books, just a couple of series I like. Sigh :/
It sucks here. Thankfuly we have periplus now! Though I have to spend more money on buying books, idk, I just feel satisfied :D

it's a real tough situation you're in dear. but really, if you feel like this isn't what you really want to do, and you really tried it for years ne, shouldn't you change it then? i mean after all, you have to live with what you made your degree with for the rest of your life, so shouldn't it be something you want to do?

I don't know why but I am afraid of changing what I have at the moment. I'm really good at this major, I mean most usually struggle with their hands but I apparently am great with my hands so I own the skill. So I might be afraid of coming out of my comfort zone because this is what I'm good at and I don't really dislike it, I just don't put my heart wholly on it and it's such a sad thing I guess. That's what confused me. Not to mention the pressure and expectation and the issue with my own pride :(

it's normal love. changes are never easy, and people normally are afraid of them. but sometimes, you need to do what you need to do. and i don't know listen to what your heart is telling you, try to not listen to your brain and all the worries, but to your heart and what your instinct is telling you. *hugs*
