Bless you, Deb. I agree wholeheartedly. I do know, however, a couple of people who have now voiced some rather dusturbing anti-humanity reasons for voting leave that they did not voice before the day and I am having a hard time with my concept of them as reasonable and kind people being upended. Well...onward. Many more heartening things regarding all this may happen in the next two or three years.
I agree wholeheartedly and I really feel for everyone who read and heard the lies. Should they have checked facts themselves? No, I don't think that should have been necessary. Our politicians and press should have been more honest about consequences on both sides instead of spinning lies and half truths. It's been unfair for all of us.
This is why I hate politics. As a person who has many friends in England, I can only hope that you will come through this with minimal consequences in your daily lives. Only in the long run will you know if this was the right decision or not.
Thank you so much, Deb. You know how torn I was throughout the debate and how I voted for reasons other than race or hatred. I've been immensely upset for people like yourself and your family who might see unwelcome consequences but I hope none of that comes to fruition. I've felt sick at the hate pouring out towards the Leave side and all the 'proof' being posted of how leavers are all racist, hateful and thick. All it is doing is fuelling the situation. There's been some going the other way as well and it's not helping anything. We are in the first few days of reaction, shock and uncharted territory but I was heartened by Tony Blair's interview this morning (love him or loathe him), as he spoke in a sensible, measured and conciliatory way of how the UK and the EU can sort things out to the benefit of all. It will take a lot of time but I'm still hopeful that things will gradually get better, including the terrible political climate we find ourselves in. I've said from the start that I thought things will turn out quite
( ... )
Well said. When Tim came round on Friday, we realised we had voted differently, but basically that was all that was said.
We need to remember that whether in or out of Europe the UK is still a very diverse nation, that needs to pull together for OUR future ... and whatever that brings.

We must go forwards, there is no option and we must now try to make the best of things and work together for positive outcomes.

What's done is done, we simply have to work together for the best outcome.
But we can't do that if we don't respect that others made a different choice to us and that they were entitled to do so.
